I'll bail asap if they completely botch the source, which is most likely going to happen.

But as I've said before, most people don't know this source material so they don't give two shits about it being accurate. The show is going to kill it because it's Lord of the Rings, not fail because it's Lord of the Rings. If you are just the average viewer, you are getting the LOTR fix you've been wanting for a long time, it doesn't matter if its not accurate. Hell %99 of the people watching haven't read The Silmarillion. WoT was just a crappy show regardless if you knew the source material, there is a chance that if you put bias's aside/didn't know the source, this could be a good show. I said for years even before they announced Amazon was going to make a show that I never wanted anything to cover this age on screen just because it's too hard to do it justice, but just from the trailers, the production of this is top notch.

I’ve stayed pretty strong on Star Wars and the only MCU movies I’ve seen post Endgame are the Spider-Man films. I’m planning on staying out of House of the Dragon, and will throughout the first season, but if I’m hearing that’s really good and does the material justice, I might watch that one eventually. I’ll stay out of those threads.

But this is just a dumpster fire. If I had to pick one fictional property to preserve and the rest are burnt, I’d say Tolkien’s works to be preserved and burn the rest within a half second’s consideration. This is clearly blasphemous on the surface. But again, the memes are going to be glorious. I will be shite talking in the episode threads in Rings of Prime.

It’s definitely possible this one might not be a dumpster fire, but I’m going to have to wait for at least a full season review from multiple posters before taking the chance on it. Martin’s world died for me when Arya killed the Night King.

This is going to be worse than the Last Jedi. This will have you saying “Well the Rey and Kylo Ren scenes were pretty good” compared to the garbage they’re about to release. Trust me, it’s going to be fun mocking this show.
