Universal themes. That transcend nationality and race.

So? How's that equate to interjecting race into characters who were specifically described a certain way?

I got those 'universal themes' by watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Not a single white guy anywhere to be seen. Same with Kung Fu Hustle. And add every other damn movie across the world which DOESN'T have anyone who looks like me in it.

Literally you've to zero case here.

You need someone to tell you how to type, it seems.

You watched a trailer to a show about stories you know NOTHING about.

The linked video I posted explains it. They guy on the video knows what he's talking about.

If you think I’m arguing that the NEED to change characters you have a point.

But I’m saying it’s not going to ruin it.

Which is different.

The interjecting of race isn't the only problem with this mess.

It's disrespecting the characters themselves (like Galadriel) as well.

This series is already ruined.

The 'why' is fully explained in the videos you're too scared of watching.

Have it your way.

You continue to confuse setting with theme

You don’t remotely understand the themes, you communist cocksucker.

You don’t know what a theme is. You haven’t even mentioned 1.

And you would call me a racist for the same reasons if I demanded white people in Avatar. You are lying scumbag. Go take a long walk off of a short pier, count

I’m calling you racist because you are.

Ummm, if they weren’t then why cast them that way?

Don’t deflect. Quote me saying back hobbits exist. It’s all fictional. This is a stylistic choice.

Again this isn’t the same as casting Denzel Washington as MacBeth in a visceral interpretation.

Visceral doesn’t mean what you think it means.

quote:

No, you are a racist Sammy. Talk about throwing stones from glass houses.

What’s racist? Tell me exactly what’s racist about my opinion. I cant Point out your racist bullshite.

2nd time asking - where's your proof that I'm remotely racist. What have I said to lead you to that conclusion?

I'll wait.

Then why cast them that way? Oh right, because you are worse than a racist and are a white supremacist and think minorities need to be given roles since they are too stupid to get it themselves. Just because you hate yourself for being such does not make you any better than Richard Spencer.

Ok so you’re going to just drop your claim that I’m saying black hobbits existed (hint no hobbits exist)

I imagine The actual reason is that it’s easier for black people to picture themselves in a world where they actually are depicted (even as elves and hobbits) making it a more immersive experience for black viewers and fans. Idk if all black people feel like they don’t belong in middle earth, but you definitely feel like they don’tz

quote:

Yeah, you’re telling me to ignore my intellect rather than your point blank racist thoughts on what you think black people writ large think about Lord of the Rings.

You brought up the word visceral not me. You also used it in a context that didn’t make sense

2 I habe Never claimed to speak for all black people. I’ve said their presence in this show doesn’t ruin it FOR ME.

quote:

And the Coens would agree that they were visceral in making MacBeth

I dont Think so. Also it was only Joel Coen. Not the Brothers. Just casting a black actor doesn’t make something visceral. Visceral isn’t the opposite of traditional or literal.

quote:

You don’t come onto my property

Literally not your property. In any way.

quote:

I know damn well what the author was going for

The author says he doesn’t like the “proposed domination of the author’s authority”

Tolkien is fine with us imagining a bit.

You’re literally arguing seperste but equal and calling me a white supremacist.

You are too upset about black people being in your all white fantasy land.

This is literally white guy made about black neighbor fantasy franchise version.
