Big week for the MCU, most efficient thing is to streamline all the other threads into one.

First question-is BW a standard “Bucky Path” action thriller or does it at least suggest some of the weirder aspects of the MCU aka the “Rocket Path”?

Second question- Are we seeing Kang in the finale of Loki with his girlfriend?

I’ll side with either of the others over you, Mr. Johnny Come Lately.

Thank you for doing this.

May want to ask people to keep spoilers off the first page at least though.

Like we didn't already have too many threads to keep up with, already

Well, this movie is "old" in a couple of ways.

First off, it was made to be released before any of the Disney+ series came out, so I don't think we see much of anything tying it in. Could be wrong, though... perhaps some early references to Zemo, and then whoever hired US Agent at the end of F&WS.

But it would have to be early references, since it's "old" as in set in the past. Not sure how far back, but before Endgame at least.
So with that, I'm waiting for it to come to standard Disney+, not paying for it. She's dead, she doesn't die in this film, nothing dire will happen to her that she eventually doesn't get out of. So there's really little but eye-candy action. That's what happens when you start hop-scotching around timelines (do you hear me, Star Wars?)... when you lose even the semblance of risk, a thriller becomes not very thrilling.

As for Loki, not sure where we're going here. General rule of thumb seems to be, don't introduce a MAJOR character in a series, wait for a movie. But we don't know if Disney is actually following that model.

Pretty sure that went out the window the moment they came up with Disney Plus.

Has it? Wandavision, everyone was speculating about Mephisto, and it turned out Wanda was actually the big villain. We got a couple peripheral characters in Agatha Harkness and whoever the black chick was; and we got SWORD and an evil bureaucrat (who's taken down).

We follow with Falcon and Winter Soldier- despite being governmental in nature, no mention of SWORD even along the edges. Zemo was reintroduced, but he was already in play after Age of Ultron, he just got used again. We got US Agent and black Cap, another set of peripheral players; and "the power broker", also not a big-time baddie. You'd think with Zemo and the Eastern European angle, Dr Doom and Latveria might be an option (especially with Wakanda being somewhat involved), but they strayed away from that.

Now, we have Loki, with the TVA and the Enchantress introduced. Certainly seems like Kang would be the obvious guy to look at (having Ravonna makes that clear). But he'd be the first real villain that could span several movies, out of all this so far. I don't count the Power Broker, although she might be squared off against the Falcon going forward.

I hear The Widow plays scissors with her sister, because they are transibblings. Loki watches like the cuck he is.

Bucky and Captain Black Falcon was supposed to come out before Wandavision, so Sword wasn't necessary to mention.

I have a feeling that, despite claims by Disney, the D+MCU series will still go the Agents of Shield route... They will be official, but not necessary. It hurts the movie brand if you are required to watch a series on a premium service to understand what is going on.

It would be to hard for the movies to ignore the power up by Wanda, Vision is alive and white, Sam Wilson is the new Cap, and Sharon Carter is villain. And the new Loki is a female.

Kang won't be the villain. It will be another Loki who created the TVA

Sam was already going to be new Cap based on the ending of Endgame... Wanda was already the Scarlet Witch... a power up can be explained in about 30 seconds in Dr. Strange MoM... Vision's contract is up and there are no plans for him right now... Sharon won't be back on the big screen...
