In the background of the club party scene, you can see extras doing coke off a table.

Probably members of the crew, and that was actually coke, from what I've heard of the shenanigans that went on during the making.

My old company was founded on Caddyshack as their core imagery, all the way down to one of the national sales awards being one of the dancing, animatronic gophers, the sales rookie of the year award was the Noonan Prize, and the directive for fun & laughter was codified in the Values & beliefs as "So I've got that going for me... which is nice."

They lost their way when they felt the need to move past that shared culture. It's a shame. It used to be a blast to work there.

Cindy Morgan wasn’t interested in making the movie, so she set a side goal of banging all 4 of the leading males. She said she missed one but wouldn’t say who.

Sadly no Rodney or Ted Knight, but a good watch nevertheless

In Caddyshack (1980), cocaine use was rampant on the set. So much so, that during this clip, you can see Doug Kenney, a writer and producer, look around and chop up a line of cocaine and offer it to the actress next to him who then snorts it just as scene cuts away.

From about 11-15 seconds into this clip
quote:

"We shot the movie in 1979. It was a pretty debauched country at the time. The cocaine business in South Florida was mammoth, and everyone was doing everything. There was some concern from the studio. Someone in the accounting department leaked to the studio that everyone was taking their per diems in cash, which is ... unusual. "

Lets's have a moment of silence for the late great Cindy Morgan. What a pair.

The concept of the movie was the rivalry between Michael O'Keefe's character (Danny) and Scott Colomby's character (Tony). Once they got on the ground in Florida, first-time director Harold Ramis quickly figured out the "funny" was with the adults, particularly Rodney and Ted Knight. So, the "teen" frenemy stuff was cut to make more room for the funny adults, including more with Chevy, Bill, etc.

That moment of concern lasted all of three or four seconds, probably.

CSB but I’ve played the course where it was filmed. My uncle used to be a member and they had Al Czervik’s golf bag in the pro shop.

Decent little course but didn’t look anything like the movie obviously since it had been decades since filming

One of my favorite movies. So many memorable lines and performances.

Doug Kenney
Insane to me that Kenney considered this film to be a failure (in comparison to his success with Animal House). I was 19 when it came out and thought it was the funniest movie ever (then) and now I consider it a classic (as I'd think most do).

It’s crazy because I always thought Caddyshack is much funnier than animal house
