What role and/or movie would be greatly improved by replacing Nic Cage as the actor?

I’ll go first - imagine the role played by George Clooney in O’Brother Where Art Thou played by Nicolas Cage

George was good - even really good - but I think Nic in that role would be unforgettable.

Now imagine the role played by Sam Neill in Jurassic Park played by Nicolas Cage. Even better. And he’s reunited with Laura Dern.

What makes you think that Nick Cage would have played it better he's already over animated as it is

and that character I think it would have been too much part of what made Clooney's performance it seemed like the character was shocked at what he was getting away with

Weird take

At that point in their careers, he may not have greatly improved the character, but he would have been as good as, if not slightly better than, Brad Pitt playing Det. Mills in Se7en.

Nic Cage as Walter White in Breaking Bad.

Was the first thing that popped into my mind and now I kind of want to see it.

Was thinking he’d be a better Gus Fring. Will Ferrell as Ted Beneke.

Willy Wonka would have been a good role for him IMO.

Interesting though some of the roles he passed on that he was offered.

Aragorn — The Lord of the Rings
Shrek — Shrek
Harry Dunne — Dumb and Dumber
Neo — The Matrix

Maybe not the entire Ben Stiller role in Tropic Thunder, but could you imagine Nicolas Cage as Simple Jack?

I could definitely see him as Clifford instead of Martin Short
