Plot twist Brianne pregnant.

I think most agree that the Jaime/Cersei ending was done very poorly and destroyed years of character development.
There's been a lot of disagreements, but I think most agree on that.
I agree with you.
They were the two most complex characters and they had the most depth.
For instance, Jaime never really redeemed himself. He simply showed that he doesn't have to be a dick 24 hours a day and in doing so, fooled the entire audience.
I have mixed feelings about Cersei turning into something girlish and fragile at the end. There was something poetic about it but i didn't like seeing her reduced to that.

Jaime? His character arc, possibly one of the greatest ever, was ruined the moment he left Breanne.
It was perfected and came full circle the moment he left brianne. He dabbled with honor and integrity, found it didn't suit him and then went back to being a true blue lannister.
His will probably be the only character that ends perfectly.

His death would have made so much more sense if he didn’t frick Brienne
This i agree with. They didn't need to frick for them to have their final scene together and it was that final which was most important. The sex was out of place and didn't fit his character at all.

Jaime was always a shithead and he only flirted with betraying Cersei for like what, 3/4 an episode?
Just because he didn’t end like you people thought he should have, doesn’t mean the story doesn’t fit his character. Did you think that he was going to ride a horse next to Dany to take down Cersei and go fight the Lannister army himself?

He also left the mother of his child and live of his life to go fight the NK.
Even though obviously 1 person doesn’t make a difference.
He talked about having to kill the Mad King to save people.
He hasn’t been all bad, and you get the feeling he was trying to be better
.
In the books it’s so much more
Linear that he is pulling away from Cersei.
I get Peoples frustration.
It was a lame ending.
Cersei has no role this season.

Not me.
Jaime ended almost exactly the way i thought he should have.

Nope, you just got fooled into a fairytale ending for him that was never really happening.
Jamie was a great character and it was not surprising at all he went back to Cersie. She was always his one True love and no matter what he was addicted to her and in the end would always be loyal to her and his family first.

Once I read Martin’s quote on Jaime, I understood him a lot better

Cersei has no role this season.
He hated being known as the "king slayer" and his character, i think was filled with self loathing.
And you're right. Cersei had no meaningful role this season at all, which really disappointed me.
You're also right in that i didn't like how jaime and Cersei met their end but i am satisfied with how jaime came full circle. I like how his character was closed out.

You just changed my mind. I was swinging between indifferent and incredulous about his death. Thanks for your take.
Having said that I really would have enjoyed Cersi dying the same way except completely alone while her castle fell down around her.

Thanks.
Jaime has always been my favorite character and if people would've simply listened to his words, they would've seen he hadn't really changed.
Jaime always told the truth, he loved his brother and sister but was near completely indifferent to the masses around him. Jaime, being a lannister didn't care at all about people because like all lannisters taller than 3 feet, he believed he was better than all people.

“We’re used to having a whole season to get to a point,” Coster-Waldau told Vanity Fair after his character left Brienne in Episode 4. “Now suddenly, a lot of things happen very quickly.” Even Jaime’s actor was confused by the sudden reversal of course. “Trying to connect the dots between the scenes was a little complicated,” he continued, “because you invest so much time, so many years in these characters.”
The actual actor was confused while filming and couldn’t believe that’s where they had his character going in the end.

Everyone seems to forget that Jamie Lannister only had coitus with two women his entire life. Cersi and Brienne. Jamie told Lady Stark when he was her prisoner that he was more honorable than Ned Stark because Jamie had only layed with Cersi whereas Ned had a “bastard” and cheated on her. Jamie could have been crushing vagina all his life but he only slept with Cersi and Brienne. That’s insane in itself.

A tribute to the GOAT character that Jamie was
God damn the show runners for the atrocity they've done to him this seaso.

Book Jamie grows further and further from Cersei.
Show Jamie flip flops back and forth and ultimately had to make a choice. I teally Thought he was going to kill Cersei to keep her from setting off wildfire, but that didn’t matter.

Jaime Lannister is the worst character arc in the season.
Leaves King’s Landing and Cersei to fight the NK and his army/do the right thing.
Turns into a frontrunning coward by having him hang back cause Cersei was probably going to lose.
Then turned him back into a warrior when Cersei and her new man killed a dragon and a bunch of troops. All of a sudden Cersei is important again.
None of ep 4/5 lines up with who Jaime was becoming throughout the show.
