Good call! Great movie.
One Crazy Summer borderlines "known" but is another stellar movie.

Zapped was really good, hadn't seen that one in forever.
Midnight Madness was a funny scavenger hunt movie right at the beginning of the decade.

Summer School allows me to bring up the king of 80s B-movies: Dean Cameron.

That's a resume of schlock. Beautiful, beautiful schlock.

I loved Tuff Turf. Not only was Denise Richards a babe, that movie introduced me to Robert Downey Jr.
I think you could make a list of lesser known 80s movies just by going through Kelly Preston's early filmography. Secret Admirer, SpaceCamp, A Tiger's Tale.
I will also include Josh Brolin's second film - Thrashin', a mid-80s skateboard flick with cameos by Tony Hawk, Christian Hosoi and Steve Caballero.
One I was thinking about the other week was Explorers. This was the film debut for both Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix and centers around three kids who build their own spaceship. I remember seeing this in theaters, but apparently it came out less than two weeks after the original Back to the Future, and the day before Live Aid, so it was a huge box office flop.

One of my favorites from the 80s.
Another that is so bad that it is good.

Youngblood. Cynthia Gibbs was cute as hell in that movie.

Hell yes to Wraith and Youngblood!
Those are guilty pleasure movies of mine. If they are on, I'm stopping what I'm doing and watching them.

does the wraith qualify as lesser known?

Three O clock high. Watch it and you will not be disappointed.

I think so. I don't even remember it ever being in the theaters. I only saw it on HBO.
