Legendary actress Barbara Rush has died at 97

I remember seeing her in Steel Magnolias at the Kennedy Center in 1988. I've still never seen the movie.

Her first husband was Jeffrey Hunter. Her early pictures included the 2 science fiction classics, It Came From Outer Space and When Worlds Collide.

I always get a kick of people throwing out the term ‘legendary’ so casually. I’m sure she was a good actor and was hot back in the day, but pump the brakes. Nobody will know who this is in a few years

He's a young attorney and she's his love interest in The Young Philadelphians (1959).
Hombre (1967) She was the Indian Agent Dr. Favor's wife, who is kidnapped. Probably her most unflattering role.

She had a great role as Eva Taylor in A Fashionable Way to Die, S4/E1 of Murder, She Wrote. Her and Jessica dining at the restaurant in the Eiffel Tower always makes me smile for some reason.
She plays a designer who is about to take over the fashion world. I will admit to two small quibbles. Her character seems so strong that her decision to acquiesce to the coercion from the shady financier/murder victim seems a little out of place. And second, the dresses being modeled don’t seem particularly noteworthy in the way the plot suggests. Again, just quibbles. Jessica is strong and engaging as always. The final scene where the French detective asks for her half of the bill owns me. Very good episode.
