Not sure why R2 isn't with him. But it's a leap to say he left it on purpose when it's never implied. It's a misconception Luke left the map.

You see, this is what's wrong with these stupid arse movies.
You set up this map to find Luke, and you're saying we have to assume Luke wants to be found. You are trying to tell me Luke doesn't want to be found and it's luck he was found.

Good storytelling would be that Luke does want to be found, but only someone worthy of finding him could do so, and that person is Rey. It was her destiny.

I'm just saying Luke didn't leave the map.

Its rumored he went looking for the old jedi temples.

Per the scroll in the force awakens, Leia is searching for him. Old man from force awakens believes he found where Luke may be. Its only part of the map. R2 has the other from the empire archives.

And to me it wouldn't make too much sense for Luke to just remove himself if he is just waiting it out but that's just me.

That seems actually like a common story element. Find old hero for help. Old hero doesn't want to help. Then in the end, finds enlightenment and helps.

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion on the movie I'm just saying it's wrong saying Luke left the map.

I guess you’re right. I also thought Luke left a map. Your explanation makes more sense.

The whole series is collected in Tag and Bink Were Here.

It's just fun starting with them pestering Mace and Yoda and going through all the movies.

Just watched this movie for the first time last week and I didn't know until I watched that video that the "Chrome Dome" was a recurring character from the first movie. Another strike against this movie

I thought that was what was left of the Knights of Ren.

I only saw this movie once.

This was the most poorly thought out part of the movie and its really not close. Its like if the secret service for Trump was armed only with switchblades and they are not allowed to get within 50 feet of Trump. The whole "throne room" idea that has been recycled in the movies needs to be replaced with something better.

He didn't. He asks where he is and then cuts to Kylo. He probably came to the conclusion though by chewie being there without him and the tone of his question

How did he not feel it? Leia did, plus he felt them in Empire.

So he learned how to project himself on another planet by something other than the force? Or he learned how to do that, which had never been done before, 20 years ago and has just been green milking it this whole time?

He has been cut off from the force for 6 years. That gives him a good 24 from RoTj to TLJ to learn lots of stuff.

Out of the things to actually complain about that kind of seems like a silly angle to take. But hey, if it bothers you it bothers you.

What’s the story behind that gif?
A gothic rave beneath an overpass?

It doesn't bother me that he did the force projection. I thought that was awesome. That's the badass Luke i wanted to see.

The whole cut off from the force is just stupid to me.

So Luke faking a fight was the badass Luke you wanted to see?

If Luke had done a few other things, then maybe I could go along with that but considering how awful his storyline was, that wasn’t the finale I wanted to see for arguably the greatest hero in movie history.
