The most amazing thing is how well Pedro Cerrano assimilated to the United States and became POTUS and a spokesman for Allstate.

I thought it was well known Sheen was juicing during this movie to give him more velocity? I think he was throwing mid 80s.

Also the big shot Cerrano hits was not technically scripted. The scene was set with the crowd supposed to go nuts like the homer in was hit. Well on the pitch Haysbert actually jacks one. And the crowd goes nuts. And he was so excited he forgot to drop the bat. Which is why Cerrano runs the bases holding his bat.

Never understood how Ron Shelton (a former player himself) could pick that doofus, Tim Robbins. He was so uncoordinated. And at the time the movie was made was a nobody. He could have selected probably dozens of 20 something male actors for the role.
