I agree, it's just as important to have a character to hate as it is to have one to like. I haven't seen it in a while, but the main thing I remember is the show went off the rails stupid pretty quickly.

The first season hasn't been awful story-wise, but there's so many characters that grind your gears. Gerry Bertier is probably my favorite character at this point.
