I don't understand the dislike for Skyfall on this board but it is not the best Bond film. I would probably still give that title to Dr. No, with Casino Royale coming in at a close second.

Skyfall gets the nod but only because of Javier Bardem. If no Bardem, Casino Royale is Daniel Craig's best Bond performance....

Anyone see the one where Bond gets married and once and out, George Lazenby (sp?) plays Bond? The Bond actor sucks but the movie is really well done, especially considering the date.

Plus Spectre ruins a lot of that movie, with it being revealed Silva working for Blofeld, despite it making no sense

You don't even have to consider Spectre. I like Skyfall but Casino Royale was better.

Skyfall is my favorite of the Daniel Craig Bond films but I am and always will be a Thunderball man.

What are you talking about? I've read all of Fleming's Bond books and this is way way off. Unless I missed your sarcasm...

I think Spectre at least has the greatest Bond opening with the Mexico City scene. That was great.

Spectre was very good as well. They are all different and the OP is just trolling. Skyfall was excellent so was Casino Royale...

Huge Bond fan here and have watched every bond movie 10 times... The love the for the movies has a lot to do with the supporting cast. A lot of people did not like Brosnan as Bond but he was excellent as well.

I think a lot of it has to do with which Bond you grew up with. I grew up with Moore. I liked his movies though they were a little more comical than the Craig movies.... I hate it Craig is not going to be Bond anymore... He brought a different view to the role.

IF I had to rank his movies, Id put Casino Royale, Spectre, Skyfall then QOS even though I did like it as well.

Call me crazy, but I prefer a Roger Moore bond movie over a Daniel Craig bond movie any day.

Live and Let Die is my favorite. But some of the Connery ones and Casino Royale/Skyfall are all better movies

It's a better movie in literally every aspect of movie making. It's really not close either.

This might be news to you, but the series didn't start with goldeneye.

From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are the best. The Craig movies are not good.

No it's not.

He's a brooding alcoholic.

He is morose and pissed off at the world.

What books did you read?

There are so many passages...

Bond retreats to his room, pours some Vodka, sits in the dark, etc.

He is not Roger Moore and he's maybe Sean Connery.

But Bond in the books isn't any playboy...He has his fun moments...but Fleming makes it clear from day 1 that Bond is damaged goods.

I read all the paperbacks - Bond as a literary character would not survive if he were the movie character.

You must know that. They are not the same. Bond is a top agent and likes the ladies but he's not Hugh Hefner.

He is supposed to be kinda a real guy as Fleming wrote him.

Not some superhero.

Maybe you found a superhero but he's not the books - over-the-top shite is only in the movies. Bond isn't Batman/Hefner with chicks like in the movies.

would enjoy a total reboot of the series based strictly on the books ... wouldn't be a bad hbo type thing ...

I'm with ya there brutha. To each his own. Casino Royale got me back watching Bond again after a long hiatus. I thought Quantam of Solace sucked, Skyfall was good but I still like Casino better.
