I liked it but I knew what the twist was within the first 8 minutes.

Just watched US

Didn’t mind it as much as most of y’all but I agree it had major plot holes

You really have to suspend reality. I thought the actors did a good job, even though I hate Elizabeth Moss

I hated the scene where the daughter escapes and runs for 10 minutes in the middle of the street and doesn’t make a sound. Really??? You wouldn’t be going crazy or screaming or trying to get help? Just run in a straight line and don’t make a sound. Come on

This movie wouldn’t have gotten a 10% on Rotten Tomatoes if it had white people staring in it

It was nowhere near as good as ‘Get Out’ but this is a retarded take.

The movie definitely left a lot to be desired in terms of writing, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Let’s just say it came out at the right time to get the exposure it did.

Everybody knows that mid-January is the best time to make money at the box office. That's also why every best picture nominee is released 13 months before they do the nominations. You gotta have that 13 months to marinate.

Can someone link the old spoiler thread? I've searched for the past 20 minutes and can't find it.

Get Out was good.

Us was terrible. The movie has pacing issues, leaves themes just dangling with no exploration, tries to capitalize on actual good metaphorical movies by alluding to them (i.e. Jaws, CHUD, the Shining) to make itself seem higher quality, has poor acting, unusual voice choice that distracts from the character to the point of ridiculousness, and is boring when it promises to be a horror movie.

Doesn't make it any more ridiculous and distracting, does it? There's no other way to convey that than to have the person sound like they're on an oxygen machine?

SPOILER:

The voicebox is so damaged from the strangulation of a small child that 20 years later, the character still talks like that?

I seem to be the minority, but I liked Get Out and Us both, for different reasons.

They're actually fairly different as movies, IMO. I posted more thoroughly in the threads around release, but Us was more of a horror movie than Get Out's psychological thriller.

I didn't think the twist was a shock, but I thought jt was set up well.

It wasnt a great movie. It had a very cool set-up and had me guessing the whole movie, however it didnt really make much sense in the end. Were there really millions of these clones living underground? Did they just want to hold hands around the world? that's it? really?

. That goddamn "get out" was a walmart parking lot shite diaper. The tomato meter fricking loved it, so i watched it. Wish i hadn't.

While I agree that critics went nuts for Get Out (and Black Panther) for obvious social justice reasons, it was still a good entertaining movie.

Was it best picture worthy? Maybe not, but it was more enjoyable than some recent winners of that award.

1. Yeah, that's the part of the movie I thought you had to suspend the most disbelief for by a long shot.

2. After murdering everyone. That one religious guy jumped the gun on the murdering part and wound up first on the beach by like 10 hours.

You seem triggered as frick.

It was a decent to good movie.

Story was a little far fetched but I had fun watching it.

I agree Peele is riding a magic carpet ride made out of white guilt fibers....but his movies are not terrible as you say.

I was sold from the second I Got 5 On It started in the trailer.

NWA's **** The Police has a starring role in another scene. It's a good movie for an old school rap fan.

exactly. He gets way more critical acclaim than he deserves.
