Better than both Ep 7 & 8. A female lead but no SJW bullshite attached to it.

Good storyline that doesnt need to rely on the OT cast but gives them respect.

That's how you make a Star Wars film.

I get what you are saying.

But they still gave a dead guy a very prominent role.

No, the only part that sucks and skip worthy is Forst Whitaker’s character.

The Imperial commander? No one cares about him though.

Some details would be so nice so we can discuss.

You say that as if he wasn’t almost as prolific a character as Darth Vader in the body of SW works.

Rogue One is the best of all the Star Wars movies IMO.

People want R1 to be a good film so badly

It's just as meh as all the new films, but the nostalgia was nice

Solo was more entertaining

The first two acts are worthless. I don’t hate Rogue One, but if you were to miss the first 2/3 of the movie, I don’t think anyone would be remotely confused. Too much filler in it and the characters blow.

How much more interesting would it have been if Jyn’s father actually became evil like Walter White and had to defeat him personally to bring down the Empire? Like maybe when she stops the Hispanic guy from killing her father it leads to thousands dying? That would have made it much more interesting and the first two acts worthwhile. Would be a good place for a twist villain.

I liked Rogue One.

The story was good...I liked the characters...and I really liked the cinematography getting away from the cartoony CGI crap. It felt like a Star Wars movie and stuck to the canon and atmosphere of the SWU.

More than can be said for TFA or TLJ.

I sort of agree but Rey is not the problem with the new trilogy and is a great character that I don’t see stemming from SJW nonsense.

Yeah Rey’s a bad arse. The way her character is written, she has scrapped for everything and struggled. She wants to be a badass and shake things up, not have them handed to her.

The problem is Rey is perfect. This could be explained away by saying she was in the Jedi Academy and Kylo Ren took her to Jaaku to save her from Snoke. But no, she has no struggle. The fact that she doesn’t lose in TLJ is ridiculous. What do we have to fear from Kylo Ren now? And what about third parties? A planet like Corelia or Corscant couldn’t defeat the First Order at this point? It makes no sense.

Rey and Poe are good characters.

Finn is not believable as an ex trooper. He sure as hell does not need to be silly comic relief - a Drax like character or badass would’ve been much more believable coming from that background.

The whole thing where there is still a Rebellion and one after another super weapons that need to be destroyed is just lazy writing.

Yet many here bitched about the female lead and diverse cast at the time.

Agreed.

I really like the idea of a female Jedi lead. Give her a quest to find her heritage surrounded by an insurrection of Sith trying to overthrow an aging Leia that is struggling to hold the Republic together and you have something.

Personally I’m holding out for a KOTOR series with Revan and Bastila Shan.

I can dream...
