Yes, no one is expecting the original. They are expecting a movie that fits in that universe and outside of having dinosaurs it has no feeling of being similar to those movies in the slightest. Look, I know you loved the movie or whatever and will die on this hill, but look at the reviews, it sucked.

Maybe it's because Dominion and Fallen Kingdom were so arse that any return to the more serious and survival tone of the first two makes me overrate it. But at the very least it was a stark improvement from the last two

JP3 was fricking terrible, too.

All the JP sequels are kind of arse in their own way, and none come close to the original. Again, that's why you see the 2 camps (notice his major pivot and then sly ad hom in responding with his last post).

JP

JP2
Jurassic World
Rebirth

JP3
Fallen Kingdom

Dominion

You can rank the movies in the 2 middle tiers however you want. It's not worth a lot of examination/argument in my opinion.

The score is top notch for sure. When it hits, all the nostalgia floods back.

What? The score was pure cheese and had me wondering if I was watching Will Farrell's Land of the Lost at times rather than a JP film.

Desplat's score isn't even in the same stratosphere as Williams'.

Saw it tonight, It was decent. I’d give it 2.5 stars. Scar Jo sucks as an actor. Not a movie I’d want to watch again though, unlike the first 3 and JW.

Can't disagree with any of that, yet incredibly, retread dinosaur movie (with SarJoe's form fitting outfit) will likely win the summer, toping #SuperShite and SilversurfHER and the Richards.

No trying involved.

It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience.

What does it matter to you?

I’m just saying that JW will win the summer blockbuster award over the other two movies.

Velociraptors were the size of a turkey. I've been lied to.

Wiki.

We’ve known that since’93.

They were more likely Utahraptors…

quote:

It is the largest known member of the family Dromaeosauridae, measuring about 6–7 metres (20–23 ft) long and typically weighing around 500 kilograms (1,100 lb). As a heavily built, ground-dwelling, bipedal carnivore, its large size and variety of unique features have earned it attention in both pop culture and the scientific community. The jaws of Utahraptor were lined with small, serrated teeth that were used in conjunction with a large "killing claw" on its second toe to dispatch its prey. Its skull was boxy and elongated, akin to other dromaeosaurids like Dromaeosaurus and Velociraptor.
