I remember seeing this in theaters as a 12 year old boy and thinking it was the greatest movie ever.

Watching it tonight, it's still magical.

Phenomenal book and film.

I was thinking the same thing.

Probably my favorite book (and author) of all time, and it was one of the few movies that was nearly as good as the book. Still have to watch it every time I catch it flipping channels.

Flip to AMC.

And Chricton wrote intelligent thrillers better than anybody. He knew pacing.

Still waiting on State of Fear and Prey movies.

Greatest line of the movie or at least it seemed like it when I was 9.

Although it's one of my favorite films, Jurassic Park is one that I wish I could see it as it were the first time again (along with films like Gladiator, Casino Royale, The Dark Knight, and Inception). It's great each time, but there was something special about that first experience.

The movie going experience of seeing that in the theater in 1993 hasn't been topped yet.

Non of those other films would I describe as "magical".

Seven Samurai
Jaws
Casablanca
Gone with the Wind
To Kill a Mockingbird
Raiders
Star Wars

Those are "magical". And Jurassic Park belongs alongside them.

I saw it 4 times in theaters, countless times since, and I'm also currently watching it.

Top 5 all time for me.

Dude... even though you're a Vol fan, we'd make the perfect gay couple based on you're fine choice in movies. I'd name off exactly the same list!

+1. Jurassic Park was the first movie I ever watched in the movie theaters and it was a thrilling experience but the movie has no replay value whatsoever. It's the type of movie you watch one time, enjoy it and never bother to watch again.

Well the one area my wife and I are often incompatible is film preference so maybe you're on to something.
