Went in hoping to awake my inner child, despite being let down by Jurassic World.
Left feeling like a cynical old man.
I've seen better storytelling in a Berenstain Bears book.

Started off badly. Too many stereotypical characters. Middle and end were great. Post-credits scene was cool enough.
The super-dino in this one was much more interesting than the last one. They really gave Goldblum some shitty dialogue this time around.

Amazingly good movie despite awful plot
Further proof that compelling characters (the dinosaurs) are more important that story

I would say overall the plot wasn't terrible, but the execution was very poor.
The first 1/3 of the movie was just bad, but the later 2/3rds were pretty good.

So I loved Act 1. I wish whole movie stayed like that.
Act 2 started to lose me, and Act 3 was pure dog crap.
Thank goodness for movie pass.

Is Colin T returning to the third one? J.A. Bayonne is a hack.
There was no excuse not to have Jake Johnson fill the spot of the screaming guy. They both work on computers after all.

Eh the military uses dolphins and dogs so it's not that far fetched
You don't have to worry about dolphins biting your head off if you piss it off.

I enjoyed this movie but the score was very blah. The original Jurassic Park score was just so good. Other than the 1-2 callbacks to the original score the music was forgettable.
yea the score was really bad.

I loved Jurassic World's score. This one was just a rehash of the last one without any new exciting themes. JW's score as you first see the park was epic.

So let’s discuss the true villain of this film.

Yea. I just looked at this guy’s resume.
How did he get picked to direct a JP movie? Could they not find anyone with a better list of movies who would want to try their luck at making a blockbuster?

The Impossible was pretty good. Bayonna is pretty good just seems like there was studio interference here considering how different the first half and second half was

im no movie snob. I will just say i enjoyed the movie for what it was
Im somewhat in the same boat as you. I am no movie snob and you will rarely hear me shite on movies on this board. I am fairly easily entertained so I can pretty much like anything.
Went to see it last night with my wife and two boys (older) and it was just OK for me. I have loved all the previous movies and certainly didnt hate this one. I just did not feel like there was any originality or any heart in this one. Just kinda like they were going through the motions of previous movies.
Im hoping the next one is better and will certainly go watch it.
ETA and I really like Bryce Dallas Howard so there is that. Very sexy to me..

Just saw it. I can't believe how many shot for shot scenes they stole from the first movie. I understand homages, but this movie beat you over the head with it. From the hiding behind a log while the dinos ran by to the dumbwaiter trick. Just lazy as hell.
I think my favorite one (that also wasn’t over the top obvious) was the death of the saropod.
That was the first dinosaur greeting us to the island 30 years ago. And it was the dinosaur that told us goodbye.

Number 2 was solid. Enjoyed it a lot. #3 was good too. And I agree the original was the best but that is the case in almost every movie series
