A Joker sequel reuniting star Joaquin Phoenix and director Todd Phillips is happening. There was a point in time when Warner Bros. was wary of Joker's commercial viability, so much so they decided to split production costs (and profits) with co-financiers in the event the film struggled at the box office. As it turns out, WB had nothing to be concerned about. Debuting in theaters in early October, Joker rode its polarizing word-of-mouth to tremendous success, shattering records left and right as it made its way to the $1 billion mark.

An R-rated Batman could be legit.

The shitty Ben Affleck batman? Do we get to see his parents get killed, yet again?

I'm so sick of the re-re-re-re-re-booting of movies that came out a couple years ago. Maybe, if you have to keep retelling the story, the story is no longer that good?

I mean I get it. It made bank.

But where do you go from that ending? Do you confirm it was all real, or just the murder of the doc?

Is it just going to be stuff blowing up? This Joker isn't a gangster, or a chemist, or even really an anarchist.

It's weird. I liked the movie. But it shot it's bolt. What else is in the quiver?

I knew it. This thing was too big to not have a sequel. Hope they take the same approach.

I pray not. I'd like this to be a self contained series like The Dark Knight trilogy. Keep the Twilight crap out please.

Major dish from @TatianaSiegel27: JOKER SEQUEL in the works from Todd Philips...but that's not all. Philips working on origin story for ANOTHER villain or 2. Is it Lex Luthor? Scarecrow? A team-up?

Let's do the Lex Luthor film instead. Make it like a wolf of Wall st type film, and it could be huge.

Deadline Hollywood

EXCLUSIVE: #JokerMovie sequel news is mere click-bait. Insiders say Todd Phillips never pitched origin film series on other DC characters. Don't believe the hype just yet.

Damn, Deadline calling out THR

Imagine building a reverse Marvel level universe. Build up all your villains with individual movies before introducing the hero. I dig it

People that keep referring to Robert Pattenson as just the "twilight" guy obviously can't be bothered to watch anything but giant blockbusters. Because that guy has put in some stellar acting performances outside of that series.

Still can't believe that HBO Barry show hired that Fonzie actor. HAW!

Go with the DCAU Lex is Greek depiction. Burn bridges between the Gene Hackman version and whatever BvS was supposed to be.
