I just read the post about Netflix canceling shows quickly.
Anybody remember the CBS Show Jericho with Skeet Ulrich, around 2006-2007. The concept of that show was amazing. It was canceled after 2 seasons and fans got up in arms and CBS brought it back and kind of closed the loop of the story.
But the concept was great and offers endless possibilities for writing. It involve nuclear attack, tensions and conflicts with neighboring towns, CIA involvement, states splitting off and forming their separate country.
All that to say, that this idea would be a great series with Netflix or Apple behind. The show had the cheesy low budget production values that we saw on drama shows from the Big 3 back then.

Love this show. Have rewatched quite a bit. The premise has always intrigued me. I think the creators made a comic that extended the story even further. It went off the rails from what I remember.

If you liked this show you should check out the book series one second after. Similar premise but with an EMP. I think a show is coming out for it.

Was there a third season? I only see 2 available to stream. I started watching it but stopped only a few episodes in because I saw it was cancelled before wrapping up the story.

Jericho was awesome.

I do remember a step down with the second season and some of the subplots were a little dumb. But I loved that show and always mention it in the “shows cancelled too early” threads.

I remember we had a decent following on here and we used to wish it would be picked up by someone else.

IIRC states divided into 2 separate nations and the last half of the final season got crazy. But you could straighten that story out better with more time. I think they were trying close the loop knowing it was the final season.

It was canceled after the first season, and prompted what at the time was the biggest fan campaign ever to revive a canceled show. Fans sent 20 tons of peanuts to CBS headquarters in response to the cancellation. CBS brought it back for a second season and then canceled it permanently.

It was no Terra Nova.

I don't recall liking this one. I know some folks on here were crazy about it but I don't think I was a fan. That was a while ago so the memory is fuzzy. I know I watched it but I don't have a memory of being pissed when it was axed.

Was a good series, wish they would have finished. Wanted to see Texas kick some arse on the other states.

The show drove in the reason for diesel engines and importance of salt

From above, but yes the 3rd season was a comic book graphic novel I think… I have it somewhere because I loved the show and love that genre…the comic was not great though.

Another poster mentioned The One Second after series…excellent by the way. There’s also the “Going Home” series by A. American that’s great too.

That was the singular show that taught me I wasn't going to pay attention until something made it 3 seasons.

Boom. That's why I don't remember it. I waited to watch it because I had done the same thing after the 2002 season when they cancelled Thershold, Surface and Invasion. I decided I wouldn't watch and Sci-Fi / Fantasy until the 3rd season was renewed.

Loved the show but I forget why they canceled it

On a side note: what was the more recent show where electricity suddenly disappeared and people were fighting with muskets and swords all of a sudden?
