Honest question: Do the JW believe there will only be 144,000 people that get to heaven? I've always heard this but never knew if it was true.

Yea, but also a group that will live on earth as well. So it's not just like only a 144,000 people will be "saved" (not really the term we use but an easy way to look at it).

I could give scriptural reasons for those beliefs but I doubt anybody cares to hear that lol. But that's a simple answer.

go preaching door to door. Talking about the bible, study the bible with people. Not recruiting at all. It's not like you sign up for something. It's a free bible study. It's based of jesus sending his apostles off in two's to go door to door,

You forgot the part of making disciples. They think they are the only true religion, so they are helping people become one of them. Dont let these people brainwash you.

The Ransom sounds pretty dark for a kids lesson.

That is literally an scriptural command jesus gave his disciples.

Matthew 28:19
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Let me ask you this...did jesus make it a requirement for you guys to do 70 hours in a month??? Or was it something the organization made?? In the bible I dont recall jesus ever referring to having 70 hours or even 30 hours door to door

Its not required of anybody. If nobody did 70 hours a month then that would be perfectly fine. Some voluntarily put in more time in the ministry.

It's not like a mormon, and hopefully I'm not speaking out of place, but to be an elder you are required to go on a two year mission. Its nothing like that.

Keep searching google for websites of people that bash witnesses and get the questions they have like you're doing and I'll be glad to answer them. Bc literally nothing you have said so far is right.

are you serious? That's not at all what that was saying. The moral of the story was that its probably not good for an elementary kid to play a video game like GTA V and the like and not to cheat on tests. Is teaching a kid not to cheat on a test that bad?

She didn't cheat and was a top student. It shows her being a top student, without cheating, and somehow you got from that it teaches you not to be a too student?

It was a lesson a 3rd grader could understand and somehow you missed the point.

A CAREER WITH A REAL PURPOSE

10, 11. Who are Satan’s favorite targets? How can highereducation cause difficulties for young Christians?

10 Satan attacks those who have little experience. His favorite targets today are young people. He is not happy when a young person, or anyone else, decides to be a slave for Jehovah. Satan wants those who dedicate their lives to Jehovah to fail in their loyalty and in their devotion to God.

11 When a slave had his ear pierced, he may have felt some pain. But afterward, a mark remained that would show everyone that he had decided to stay with his master. It can be difficult or painful for young people to make choices in life that are different from the people around them. For example, Satan promotes the idea that having a career in his world is the way to have a real purpose in life. But only when we make Jehovah the most important part of our life will we have a real purpose in life. Jesus said: “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need.” (Matthew 5:3) Christians dedicate their lives to do Jehovah’s will, not Satan’s. They read the Bible and meditate on it “day and night.” (Read Psalm 1:1-3.) However, much of today’s higher education does not leave much time for a servant of God to meditate on God’s Word and to serve Jehovah.

12. What choice do many young people have today?

12 A worldly master could make life very difficult for a Christian slave. In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul said: “Were you called when a slave? Do not let it worry you; but if you can also become free, rather seize the opportunity.” (1 Corinthians 7:21) If the slave had a worldly master who made life difficult, it would have been much better for the slave to be free. Today, in many countries, the law says that young people should go to school for a certain number of years. After that, students are given a choice. They can choose whether to continue to get more education or not. It can become very difficult to have the freedom to serve Jehovah in the full-time service when a Christian chooses highereducation just to have a career in this world.?—Read 1 Corinthians 7:23.

Damn, Satan did create the 9-5.

So Satan is responsible for the good stuff in the world too? Medicine and beer? Parties and sunny days with that bit of breeze and high mid 80s?

It gets even better, they believed the generation of 1914 would never pass away. Very delusional... generation of 1914 will not pass away ....the last two paragraphs takes the cake..

Yea I'm going to go ahead and stop responding to you, you clearly hate the religion, which is fine, but you cant understand the point of a video a child could understand theres no point discussing it.

Dont really know why you keep asking question when someone answers it but you still think google is right.

Ain't hidin' from nobody

Got that green light,

Got that green light, baby

Might go out to California
Might go down to Georgia, I don't know

The real irony here is when you tell them you worship Satan(just to get them off your porch) they freak out and leave. Aren't they doing the devil's work to begin with?
