Any listeners on here?

Starts at the beginning and explains all the storylines, reboots, and retcons of the X-Men, New Mutants, etc.

I started listening because I stopped reading after the Inferno series. Jubilee helping Wolverine escape from the Reavers was the last comic book I ever read. I wanted to see what had been going on with my favorite mutants.

Started of as Rachel and Miles, but Rachel decided she was a dude named Jay. That aside, fantastic show. Not ad supported, only listener supported. Regularly have big name writers and artists on the show.

Does a lot of weird cosplay and sells nudes. A lot of the times it’s gender bending type stuff, not my cup of tea.

I liked her work on GOTs breakdowns back in the day

The market for that stuff is huge. She’s prolly just making way more coin from that than she was for YouTube vids, especially with the new ad rules

The have a cool twitter feed, too. Good sense of humor about the complicated mythos of the X-Men. As an old, I essentially only recognize the Claremont run as the X-Men, with several allowable exceptions (Morrison's run neatly ties itself up in one arc, Whedon's run is short but brilliant, and I give a pass to Carey's X-Men Legacy as a side story). Powers/House of X by Hickman is now also definitively in the canon.

That's funny. The first comic I ever owned was UXM 242

With no prior knowledge of any comic character other than Spiderman/Hulk and the Super Friends, it took 10 year old me quite a while to figure out wtf was going on and who was who.

I have been listening for a few years. Jay gets on my nerves, but I like Myles. I love the Xmen and this pod was a great companion as I read through the entire Claremont run.

That whole era of X-Men was a huge clusterfrick for new readers for a variety of reasons.

“They’re dead! They’re alive and in Australia! All the team is dead again or lost in a portal but Wolverine!” Etc.

There was something crazy fun about it. The X-Men got the tail end of the 60-70s comics, mix with the short 80s awesome......then straight into 90s ridiculousness.

They embodied that era of comics more than any other team.
