I haven't read the book but I've been told there was a whole side plot

Hooper also takes Mrs. Broady to pound town. It would've completely changed the movie in a bad way.

That movie had as much a profound effect on beachgoers as "Psycho" did for people feeling comfortable taking showers.

Great flick that I've probably seen at least a dozen times over the years.

My tenth grade English teacher was a VERY uptight, stick-up-her-arse, prim and proper woman. One day, someone asked her if she had read "Jaws".
She replied "Yes...and it was the filthiest thing I've ever read!"

Anyone have Jaws memorabilia?

I have a blue muscle shirt. And a white tshirt. I could care less when I go to the store, it’s fricking Jaws. Have a poster in my sons room too.

The same actress was in the opening of 1941 where they aped Jaws but with a Japanese sub.

She was also in the Jan '73 Penthouse. Or so I've heard.

This movie is one of the goats.
Like many Spielberg movies, it completely transcends is genre and touches a little bit of everything.

When I was a kid I caught a sailfish on the drift boat B Love III out of Boynton Beach. A picture of 11 year old me standing on the dock with the sail wearing my Jaws t-shirt made the Vern Crawford fishing report on Channel 5.

I tell my 20 something kids that when it came out the question was NOT "have you seen Jaws?". it was "How many times have you seen Jaws?"

First watched it at the drive in.
Scared shitless and kept my feet up on the seat.

For the last 10 years my daughter and I watch it every 4th of july evening along with the sandlot.

Just finished a rewatch for the 4th. I know an 8.1 is a very good imdb score, but still feels lower than it should be.

I saw it at the drive-in when I was two. I should say I was asleep in the backseat of the car when my parents saw Jaws at the drive-in. I think the first time I ever saw it was when it was released to television as a movie of the week. It’s in my all time top 5 and the Indianapolis scene is one of my favorites ever.
