I think it's ok to not like this movie. I loved Ragnarok, but this one didn't do it for me. I won't say it's bottom of the pile as the MCU goes, but it's forgettable.

If they can nail a 2nd Spidey trilogy, Kang, F4 & Doctor Doom, and maybe a Secret Wars the MCU will be just fine for another decade

Sure. But what does it mean to “nail it”?

They’re exhausting the fanbase with weak characters, hackneyed comic relief, and low stakes plots.

Yes. I watched today and thought it was an above average marvel movie. I had to turn off the Multiverse an hour in.

They mentioned Valkyrie having a girlfriend at some point and korg meeting a dude or something so it all accounted for like maybe 1 minute of screen time, so probably didn't have to spend too much energy ignoring it

if the MCU has a problem these days, it’s all the damn tv shows.

You have a point. Now is covid to blame for some of it? They are way too close together now that it takes away from some of the build up to the next feature. I think the show were a good idea, I just think execution has not been the best.

The more content they make, they are bound to have some duds or some that don't excite the general MCU audience. You used to look forward to one or two mcu movies a year. Now it's 2-3 movies and 2-3 series a year. That's a lot of content.

That's honestly where they lost me. I don't care about seeing these on opening weekend or when they debut anymore. Outside of Spider-Man there aren't any that stir me to get overly excited. The infinity saga was so good that "fun middle of the pack" just doesn't seem that great by comparison. Maybe that's not fair, but it's the standard they created.

Finally got around to watching this movie. Pretty bold move by a director to make a spoof of his own movie. Felt like a Mel Brooks movie.

They must have payed Guns N Roses a lot of money for that soundtrack
It was pretty bad
They even wasted Christian Bale

Is it? Seems like Disney itself IS the popular thing right now.

In another thread I said andor looked good and the first reply was “Groomers gonna Groom.”

This board has become an extension of PT, and it sucks.

No. Disliking shoe-horned woke shite for the sake of wokeness is what people dislike. Disney just happens to be one of the biggest pushers of this crap lately.

well yeah, but that goes for all sides here, regardless of political affiliation. Movie critics are the worst, including me.

I think this is an enjoyable movie if you’re not looking to be pissed off.

Not every movie has to be the Winter Solider Most movies won’t be infinity wars or endgame.

This one was funny. It had good action sequences. It had a good villain and a decent amount of heartfelt moments.

As to the Tv shows: you might not be the target audience for all of them. That’s ok. People Complain about the generic cookie cutter movies when they make that are designed to appeal to everyone and then they complain about the movies that aren’t those cookie cutter superhero movies.

I'm perfectly happy with that and understand it. For better or worse the MCU has gotten so large that there isn't the urgency to make sure you see everything before the next piece of content drops. Honestly that's probably a good thing.

I wasn't looking to be pissed off when I saw this. I actually saw it in the last couple of weeks. Someone else did a decent job to describe it. It felt like a spoof of ragnarok. The action sequences were still pretty awesome, but the tone was all over the place.

I said it already, but I hated the Asgard as a tourist destination thing. I thought Jane's story was fine. When ever they were kicking arse it was pretty awesome. I didn't love the Gor look, but Bale was great. I hated Zeus.

It just felt like for everything I enjoyed in the movie there was a counter that I did not enjoy. I didn't hate it, I just thought it was a pretty big step back after ragnarok.

I do think Bale was under used, not sure why you bring him in and then treat him like a typical marvel movie villain

I tapped out after EG, despite being a real fan of the MCU to that point. Seemed a good place to jump off, and I sensed the movies going forward would be less entertaining for me.

I did see No Way Home, but avoided MOM. Don't expect to see the new Thor since I cancelled my Disney+ some months ago.
