The Bear is one of the only series I can actually stomach to watch, and even then, there are major plot devices that just drive me crazy.

Specifically when Carmy gets stuck in the walk in.

Anyone that's ever worked in any kind of restaurant or grocery store knows there's always a glow in the dark nob right there by the door that you can push to let yourself out.

They even show that knob next to Carmy's head as he's sitting int he cooler freaking out and contemplating his predicament.

I still love the show, but damn, there's not a single series today that doesn't make me go, "Yeah, that's bullshite" at least once, which just takes me out the whole groove they're trying to create.

Not really. Theres parts that are funny like pretty much anything, but the show isn’t a comedy. I like it but don’t understand all the award love. There are far better shows from last year.

Struck me as odd, too. Its a comedy only to the extent that you would consider a series like The Sopranos a comedy. Has some funny moments, but its mostly a drama.

good TV/Movies/Music doesn't come from making good choices and taking the most obvious route.

would i like the bear if i've never worked in a restaurant and dislike service industry workers?

Is the first episode representative? It was so chaotic with everyone yelling expletives at each other constantly...I didn't find it to be believable.

I watched it because of a recommendation.

I worked as a bus boy in a busy restaurant when I was in high school...that wasn't nearly my experience.

That chick that died in an Arby's last year must not have seen it
