Was excited about midsommar based on the trailer but it seems like a lot of reviews say it’s a waste of time. Just wanted some opinions

It’s one of those movies that you’ll either like a lot or absolutely hate. If you enjoyed Hereditary and are a fan of slow burn folk horror, ala The Wicker Man, you’ll probably like it. It’s not scary in the least, but parts of it are very disturbing.

I personally didn’t enjoy the original wicker man that much,. Blacked out during the middle and enjoyed the beginning up the bar and the end. I feel though that there were some really great pieces in between and I should revisit it soon

The sound design is incredible and should be heard in a great theater, if you're interested in the movie.

I loved it. Way more of a psychological thriller than a horror movie though.

It’s worth seeing. Cinematography is great (especially if youve ever tripped before) and there’s some really disturbing scenes but it’s pretty long and and not very scary. Hereditary was better but this one ain’t bad. I’m excited to see what else Ari Aster brings to the table

If you want to see a slow burn psychological thriller with tons of symbolism - yes

If you want to watch a horror movie or something exciting / fun to see - no

It was OK, not worth seeing in the theater, imo. In hindsight I should have just waited for Redbox.

It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

Absolutely go see it in theater. Beautiful cinematography, awesome score.... You really need to see it in theater to get that immersive experience.

I went to see it yesterday and glad I saw it based on the score and cinematography alone but the plot didn’t really hit the mark for me. I loved the premise but the way it was executed fell a little short for me. I am one of the people that loved hereditary also
