Im out of other stuff to watch and a friend shared their Disney password with us. Also is it age appropriate for a 5-6 year old?

It's fantastic.

I wouldn't say it's inappropriate for a 5-6 year old. Nothing you wouldn't see in a Star Wars movie.

Yes it is excellent. Have you let your child watch any of the Star Wars movies? If so then he is good to go

First three to four episodes are really good. Then it starts to drag some, but still good.

This question made me think of John C Reilly in Step Brothers

It's not my favorite genre, but I really enjoyed it. Look forward to the new season.

I enjoyed it, it is by far the best star wars content made since disney took over.

I didn't think it was anything earth shattering though, maybe it was just hyped up to much for me.

It's "just" solid Star Wars, but they haven't made solid Star Wars since the 80s. It's kind of like Rogue One except you care about the characters.

It's fine. I personally only thought 3 out of the 8 episodes in season 1 were worth the hype. The middle 3 or 4 episodes are completely forgettable.

It’s got a very sci fi western feel with a great soundtrack. It is a fun watch & this season should be exciting with new lore.

Agreed with above. There are some filler episodes that drag in the middle but I would argue the production value is the best thing done for the small screen outside of maybe GoT.

Not sure about the ages because of the violence.

If you liked the Clint Eastwood spaghetti Westerns, you'd probably like the Mandalorian.

Kinda funny, because Disney supposedly is all about that "child friendly" angle. The thing is, there are ways you can get around ratings...

Go watch John Carter, for instance. You see him literally carve his way through a giant creature, and emerge from the body totally covered in blood. But since it's BLUE, it's ok. He also beheads a speaking character, and hacks up a whole bunch of random "extras", but they're CGI and aliens... again, ok.

Back over to The Mandalorian, I personally loved it. They make great use of the above-mentioned "exceptions"... you don't see a lot of human death, but the galaxy is full of aliens.

I resisted watching it for several months after it came out, because I was so horribly disappointed with what Disney had done with the franchise.

Finally sat down and watched it with the fam. It completely exceeded my expectations.

Just a well written, fully realized show. I would highly recommend it even to someone who had never seen any of the Star Wars canon previously.

Heck, my favorite part of the entire series involves the interaction between two nameless characters who don’t figure into the story at all
