I am saying they re doing it because they are doing a generic girlboss trope
This has been her story for some time. It's not new.
quote:
Complete with the "power was in her the whole time she just needed to believe in herself"
She didn't need to learn or grow, she just needed to "become the leader she is supposed to be"
well...you do know her sister was ruler of Mandalore for quite some time?
Bo-Katan took over Mandalore right before the great purge. She didn't want the Dark Saber b/c she said she hadn't earned it and wasn't a good of a ruler as her sister was. All of this was done and set up in Rebels.
So everything you just said happens b/c of this, and it makes sense.
If they wanted to make another movie that I'd be interested in, it would be everything that happened on Mandalore right before and after Order 66, but i guess it was just be a bunch of girl boss shite so no one would like it.
That entire period is a great story involving Darth Maul, Obi-wan, Anakin and Ahsoka, and Bo-Katan and her sister Satine (who Obi-wan secretly loved).
I understand it's hard for some of you to accept that Bo-Katan is a pretty important person when it comes to the Mandalorian. Din Djarin is a nobody. Bo-Katan was meant to rule Mandalore. That story isn't new.

My big gripe about Bo-Katan is that if she is such a critical character to the story of Mandalore as a whole… then give her a show of her own and let that play out.
The Mandalorian is about Din Djarin and his relationship with Grogu. That’s the story. Getting away from that to wrap up a dangling storyline from a decade ago in another series was a mistake.

Hell, I like Bo Katan, and was quite visibly excited that she was added to the cast, and that her voice actress was playing her.
My statement is that she was reduced to a generic paint-by-numbers girlboss trope, because she was. . . and the girlboss trope is peak woke
As I said, the dude saying the show went woke is right, You can hate that he is right, but that doesn't make him less right.
You are just ok with the wokeness.
And that is ok, too.

explain to me then what this means without using fun buzz words that attract youtube views. Be specific to the actual story of the show.
and i'm not saying there wasn't some silly woke crap in it, as i know there was, but i think it gets overplayed with Bo-Katan mostly b/c people dont' like that she took over the show from Din Djarin, and i get that b/c it bothered me a bit as well, but for those who watched The Clone Wars and Rebels, we know that she's a much more pivotal character than Din Djarin is.

Is that really from the Mandolorian? Looks more like something from a direct to streaming Spy Kids 6 movie?

It’s from Boba Fett. The character they ruined by replacing him with mandalorian

Even after, you will still act like the trope means "has a gurl protagonist" because it is easier than thinking

I"m not an Acolyte loving moron. And I said that I also didn't like how much attention Bo-Katan took away from Djarin.
Obi-Wan was just as shitty as the Acolyte to me.
I just think there's generally an obvious difference in what people like, especially from the Mandalorian and Ahsoka based on if they watched Clone Wars and Rebels and if they didn't. I can still admit the dumbassery that happened in both shows, but also recognize that i enjoyed that setting of Star Wars, the characters, and the story for the most part from those two shows b/c of the Clone Wars and Rebels.
Again, if they wanted to make a good movie that would easily make $1B+_then bring back Darth Maul and young Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Satine and Bo-Katan and just focus on the planet Mandalore a few years before Order 66 leading up to Order 66 and what happened there after it. That story was told through several episodes throughout the Clone Wars, but i think could be a great movie, especially considering there's more common knowledge of Mandalore now and also you'd have Darth Maul as a main character. With the right director and writers, that could be an awesome movie.

Haven't really seen anything about it.
Looks like the last season, which I missed/ignored since it took so long to be made, was released in early 2023.
I kind of thought the series/IP would just die on the vine like half of their announced Star Wars projects.
So nope, not excited at all.

I'm interested and will go see it, but I'm not breathlessly awaiting it like I would have decades ago.
I happen to like the Mandoverse, these are the sequels we should have had in the first place. Hopefully we get de-aged Luke in it for a scene or two.
They definitely could have been better, but it hasn't been the total disaster of the actual sequel trilogy. My take is, this is make or break for me. If this "fixes" Star Wars, I will continue to pay some attention. If not, I'm done.
