Not even a little. I like the Mandalorian first two seasons, then he got replaced in his own show in season three for the woke message stuff. Done with it...

Yeah my kids and I are all looking forward to it. We watched the whole show and the Bobf though and enjoyed them all.

I mean. . .He's not wrong.

You can get annoyed that he's right, but it doesn't make him less right.

People read into a message that's not there. We can have a lot of discussion on where S3 went wrong, and if you disagree with the show putting more of a focus on Bo-Katan and kind of putting Mando in the back seat because of it that's a discussion I would probably agree with you with.

But when you look at what S3 was about, the story of the different factions of Mandalorians trying to come together and reunite so they can take back Mandalore from the leftover remnants of the Empire, and Bo-Katan (whose story Star Wars and Filoni have explored for nearly 11 years when S3 released mind you) who the fall of Mandalore is crucial to because it represents legitimately everything about her character, it makes complete logical sense to put her at the forefront of that.

S3 was what it was because while I think they had a fine plan for the season initially, they ultimately wrote a disjointed, filler heavy season that lacked the character and the personal character-driven story that people were invested in. It had nothing to do with wokeness.

Pretty sure they said the show was shifting focus from Mando. They never specifically said they were shifting to Bo Katan, iirc, but everyone knew what they meant.

The old M-She-U playbook

By the end of the season, Pascal was a supporting character to the leading Bo Katan.

They proceeded to do a paint-by-numbers "girlboss trope" with her. But I guess we have to pretend that isn't woke anymore. . .because "modern audience" types think the term is overused

That 10 MILLION dollar Super Bowl spot was laughable. They were trying for a Budweiser vibe, voiceover by Sam Elliot, a quaint Hoth countryside complete with stomping and chomping Tauntauns with Mado and Grogu in an open air sleigh.

So weird. So NOT Star Wars.

The ad doesn't MAKE the movie. They're not linked, but Disney chose this as their way to promote the film. Even the CGI is garbage. (at least, on my screen) What deeper bond is there between an character who doesn't speak and a toddler who CAN'T speak? What the hell even is that crap?

But then they were forced to come out and EXPLAIN their 10 million $ ad the next day, because fans were dunking on it so bad.

Just a terrible look.

I mean, he doesn't need to be

Don't care. I'm more likely to pay to see Supergirl than this mess.

I am going to wager Lobo will exist to be the target of feminist woke-scolding, but chick is hot, so I'll give it a shot.

On streaming

So you think they had the foresight to write in a complicated story arc 14-15 years ago all in the name of serving the future “wokeness?” You’re a moron if you think that. They were following an arc of a very popular character that had been around for more than a decade, and unfortunately, executed some parts of it poorly

So because this is a continuation of a character, that means the story was written 15 years ago?

Was the story of Rise of Skywalker's Palpatine written 40 years ago?

I think it is crazy to think that after the entire arc of Bo Katan, it was always intended to end with a cookie-cutter girlboss trope. . .and not that it was bolted on because that was the direction ALL Disney properties were going

thank you.
people that want to claim wokeness girl boss crap just b/c Bo-Katan was featured more than Mando are silly, and i'm someone who can't stand most star wars stuff now, but Bo-Katan is a pretty important character when it comes to Mandalore.
No different than people bitching about Sabine Wren and Ahsoka. Those are two characters who have been well written throughout Rebels and that show was a continuation of that. Now getting stabbed in the stomach with a light saber and living was dumb, but people didn't like that show simply b/c there were two women in it.

If that's what you're hung up on, then you just need to get the frick over it. These are women characters who weren't just created from nothing and injected into Star Wars for the sake of being more female, like the Acolyte did. These are women within Star Wars who have a fleshed out story already in Star Wars.

we already know about Bo-Katan, and Ahsoka, and Sabine Wren. Din Djarin is the new made up character in the story.

Who is doing that?

I am saying they are doing it because they are doing a generic girlboss trope

Complete with the "power was in her the whole time she just needed to believe in herself"

She didn't need to learn or grow, she just needed to "become the leader she was always supposed to be"

It is the same tired trope that is in every female led MCU show.

Exactly the same
