No.
So many underlying themes in that movie, its genius:
-disgruntled over worked dad
-typical trashy bully kid that ends up getting his arse kicked
-redneck Christmas tree salesman
-hourly paid Santa who hates kids
-asians who dont give shite about our holidays and cut a roasted ducks head off

movie sucks. I'll take Christmas Vacation over this every single time

Your idea of genius is quite different from mine.

It’s Christmas, in the truest American, middle class way, told from the perspective of a child.
I am 64, Christmas Story could be a documentary about my family and neighborhood when I was 10, including my old man and the heating unit, I love it.

Still better then "A Christmas Story 2"

I mean, it's not really a comedy. Shepherd's narration is humerous, but it's not a comedy. It's more of a cynical take on Christmas from a child's point of view.
Kid obsesses over a present, deals with all the shite surrounding the holidays, finally gets said present and it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Also, I find it odd that people are creating a competition between it and Christmas Vacation. They're not even remotely the same movie.

It's a good and cheesy Christmas movie. Relax gump

Those are unquestionably the best two xmas movies and I loathe xmas and xmas season. Those two movies give me a small dose of the holiday cheer.

It's not supposed to be funny, rather, sweet.

Christmas story is horribly depressing

It’s probably a lot more nostalgic for people born in the 70’s, maybe early 80’s, than the younger folks.

Old Christmas movies are the best. Modern ones don’t get close. Christmas Vacation was silly to me. Never saw it a second time.
