It’s one of those that has its place in my Christmas rotation, on Christmas. It’s not my favorite one but I still enjoy it.

Never really thought it was THAT funny. At least not for all the hype it gets.

Only in the sense that people have elevated it to "the greatest", which is unfair for a little movie that was created as a fun, niche nostalgia piece.

The first batch of us to discover the movie (outside of the few who saw it in the theater) found it on it's first cable run on the second tier pay cable networks like The Movie Channel. When it was in theaters it didn't have the legs to make it till Christmas. If you didn't see it around Thanksgiving it was probably gone from your theater by the Christmas break.

Pure nostalgia for me. Grew up watching it every year with my parents and now I watch it every year with my kids. It was my dad and I's thing that we looked forward to every Christmas. We'd put it on as soon as we got home from Christmas Eve mass. I love the movie.

It isn't that great, but it's tradition and I'll watch it at least once on christmas.

The irony is that Clark Griswold would love Christmas Story while his soulless neighbors would not.

Christmas Story is one of the 3 or 4 greatest Christmas movies and I certainly don’t count Elf as one of those.

A Christmas Story is one of my favorite movies of all time regardless of genre.
