The only significant flaw in either film is Nolan's deliberately muddy dialogue mix (worse, by far in Interstellar).

Even with this issue, they are easily 2 of my 10 favorite movies of the past 20 years.

Inception. Much more mind blowing at the time of its release.

Interstellar doesn’t exist without it.

There is no debate.

Inception is a masterpiece.

I like Interstellar, but Inception was a lot better at least to me.

Both beautiful movies, I haven't done a re-watch of Interstellar yet as I enjoyed it so much at a big screen theater. I have a nice set up at home, but I'm just not sure it will do justice. That docking

Have seen Inception a few times, great movie.

I can’t decide, they’re both incredible. Originality goes to Inception, but Interstellar probably has the best sequence of events of any film of the last 10-15 years starting with Mann pushing Cooper down the ice, through the docking scene to the climax of the film. Zimmer’s score during the docking scene just elevates it even more.

I’d agree with you but I’ve never really been able to make out any dialogue over that bass.

I absolutely love both of these movies. I loves Tenet as well, but it’s probably because the first time I saw it was on HBO Max with the subtitles turned on

Except for the end of interstellar. He just walks in , all of his grand and great grandkids are there. No one wants to talk to him or meet him. No hi, this is your grandfather, etc.

That was just poorly edited. He's alone with her, then all of a sudden he's backing away with a room full of people.

He could have met some/most of them previously. Murph is the one that comes all that way to see her father after all. I don’t see this as a flaw in the film.

The end of Interstellar bugs me with Murph because him getting back to her is basically the entire premise of the movie. And then it’s just like “oh hey….well, see ya later..” I get that they both get their closure, and that he doesn’t know any of her family so he wouldn’t feel that attachment to them (or them to him), but still. It just felt rushed, but I get it.

Inception is cool but man so much analysis was put into the spinning top at the end. I just choose to look at it from the “the important thing is that Leo doesn’t care about the top anymore” angle. Also, the movie doesn't make much sense or have resolution if the end is still a dream.

That said though, they’re both great movies. And both very rewatchable (though Interstellar is a better rewatch I think).

Great movies. Two things that bother me about Interstellar. The aforementioned Grandfather scene, and the the scientific explanations. They are often scientists explaining concepts to other scientists who should already know these things. I get that it is intended for the audience, but the dialogue is just sloppy.

I'll take the Prestige over both.
