I just saw this.

It wasn't, I thought, as good as the first movie. It was, however, a damn good movie.

If this movie was bad then I can only pray that God forces me to watch movies like this and smites me for the rest of my life with such a torment.

You people are insane looking for a political statement out of this.

Mr Incredible stayed at home because that would be more funny than if she did. He is kind of a doofus but that is why it was funny.

The movie was great ...............quit trying to look for something its not and freaking have fun!! Geez.

100% agree.

SPOILERS

if anything it was a unique take by having the kids be the ones who came to the rescue.

no it wasn't as good as the first one and the 'bad guy' was easy to spot early on when they talked about decisions made by the father...but it had humor and did a great job picking up RIGHT AFTER the first movie left off even though it was made 14 years later.

i give it a 4.5 out of 5

Something that someone had pointed out to me, that I hadn't noticed... Everything seems to have an early 60's vibe in the movie except for Void. She's got a hairstyle and manner of speaking that wouldn't be around until the 80's or so.

And props to Brad Bird for getting a Time/Warner (now AT&T) cartoon (Jonny Quest) into a Disney movie.

Saw it last night and really liked it. I agree with pretty much everything other people have posted.

The weakest part of the movie was the villain and everyone could see it coming from the beginning. Not to mention her motivations were completely absurd. Her dad's death was his own fault, not superheroes'.

Jack Jack was the star, and Edna's scenes were great once again. It also seemed like the tried to make Dash super ADHD in this one, which got a little annoying.

The animation was awesome. The scene at the end where Frozone builds the ice wall to stop the ship, and then they're all sitting in the ice/snow really showed how great it was.

9/10 for me

Forgot about the cage scene. That was incredible.

Definitely was, and how angry Bob was getting at Helen doing so good at her new gig the first day was totally out of character for him as well. There's no reason he would get angry or be unhappy for her. If anything, the better she did, the better the chances were for him to get back out there.

same. i didnt see jealousy as a mr. incredible trait esp. with the woman he loves who he lied to about the whole syndrome gig that happened right before this. i would think he'd be that much more happy for her to have her moment too.

It was short-lived.

Remember, he had been sneaking out before. He loved being a hero.

Plus, don't lose sight of what had happened. Dicker had told him they were good, then within 3 months, it all goes to shite and they shut down the hiding support services. Bob feels useless and scared and when an opportunity arises to help the family, he can't in the only way he knows.

I can see there being a flash of jealousy about that.

On the money I think. Bob never stopped being an underground hero. There was the small time skip at the end where he got to be open again. And boom rug out from under him.

If they do three it's in a good position now to do a family friendly Kingdom Come type story.

After all I'm sure the new kids out there might dig up something on this guy again.

It was a good movie, so there won't be much focus on it, but you can't tell me you didn't see the undertones of it a few different times.

It wasn’t exactly an undertone. The entire point of the movie was about women stepping out of the shadows.

My biggest gripe, besides the dad being useless, was making Dash totally pointless. I barely recall him using ANY powers.

I swear some of y’all either didn’t see the movie or are completely hypersensitive to anything remotely political to the point where you imagine ulterior motives everywhere.

Where am I being sensitive? I don’t care about the politics. It’s just a fact the point of the movie was women stepping up and men playing the supporting positions. I didn’t say it was WRONG. You have to be blind to miss this in the plot. They BLATANTLY talk about it.

That wasn’t a gripe. My gripe was that the dad And ESPECIALLY Dash were nutured and didn’t really utilize their powers much. Further, Dash has no arc in this movie while every other character - even the baby, does.

I liked the movie.

It’s one conversation between two women. It’s certainly not the plot. Elastigirl wasn’t given the spotlight because “women”. It was completely based on her skills. The conversation you’re referring to was a villain trying to use EG’s gender to manipulate her into being the center of attention. That’s not a plot. And if anything, it’s a message that’s the opposite of “its her turn”.

And Bob wasn’t useless. He shares the spotlight and actually shows he can handle being a the stay at home Dad while still being a hero as part of the family. It was a great message for men.

ETA: Dash nor Violet had a character arc. They each had real life growing pains cliched to match their ages as a sub-sub plot to Bob’s parental troubles.
