But I watched the conky episode today where bubbles has a hand puppet and I haven’t laughed that hard in awhile. Hopefully the last few seasons are good as well

It eventually goes way downhill but the early seasons are outstanding.

I'm serious when I say this, Jim Lehey and John Dunsworth's portrayal of him is one of the best acting performances in modern television history.
A bi-sexual, drunken, trailer park manager in Canada played by mild-mannered, Shakespearean stage actor who just wants to build a cement seawall.
As for the show, don't watch anything past the original seasons, the Christmas special, and the first feature film. Everything after that is pretty terrible. The first five seasons of the original Canadian Showcase show are comedy gold.

I agree the early seasons are the best.
It just goes off the rails with the outrageous stories, but I still laugh out loud even in the later seasons.
The Bible Pimps episode is some of the best it has to offer.
And I agree about Jim Lahey. He’s such a great character. Hate Dunsworth passed away.

I would say season 2-7 are worth watching. The first netflix produced season was not completely awful but it quickly went downhill after that.

The first few seasons are the absolute best. There are still a few gems in everything they produce after that, but in general it goes down hill the longer it goes on.
You'll know it's peaked when they start getting star cameos. When the stars quit appearing in episodes, you'll know it's over.
In my opinion, the worst ones were the ones where Ricky, Julian and Bubbles do road trips to Europe and Florida. It's just so formulaic.
I thought the animated stuff was ok. It wasn't bad per se, just wasn't up to the original quality.
Mr. Lehey was the best character on the show.

The best episodes of this show for me were the ones with the cheap, low quality feel to them. Like the one where they’re robbing a house and Ricky gets scratched by a cat and then holds a gun to its head in retaliation.
Going into this shown completely blind, the first few episodes I watched were so absurd that it was hilarious.

Ricky, life isn't about getting drunk and eating chicken fingers.

Wasn't that the pilot episode and wasn't it in black and white?
That one was extremely low budget. The original premise was that they either recovered lost animals or robbed them from people's houses if I'm not mistaken.
The entire first sesosn is kind of like that, too. It's very slow paced and even has dramatic music in parts. It was a comedy but it was also pretty wholesome in places with lessons and such, almost like the Wonder Years or something. The one I remember most is when Julian finally confronts Cyrus and rids him from the park.
After season 1, the show got a little faster paced and Lahey became a much bigger character, which really elevated it and took it to another level.
