Million Dollar Baby and Crash are the weakest of the bunch.
Yea, I agree with this and would add Shakespeare in Love.
Crash, as someone said, was just a galvanization to make sure Brokeback Mountain didn't win. Hollywood is full of NIMBYs.
Titanic would win fairly easily among the list, although it wasn't my favorite of the bunch.

Titanic has it beat in the categories of directing, music, editing, cinematography and production design.
i disagree in the directing, music, editing, and cinematography areas. LA Confidential was an amazingly made movie
and it even has period costumes and sets...probably not on the level of titanic, but not far off

Much, much better film than Titanic.
Better script? I agree. Better film? I disagree.
Agreed. Movies like Pulp Fiction and LA Confidential had better scripts and were more cleverly written. But when you consider what Cameron accomplished with Titanic, it's one of the greatest movies of all time. Yes the love story was a little cheesy, but that's really the only bad thing about the movie. Cameron needed to come up with a fictional story to convey a real life tragedy, and I feel he did a pretty decent job. Few movies in history can match the technical aspects of the Titanic. For those saying that Gladiator would win the best picture out of these movies, Titanic is a much better movie than Gladiator.

Leo looks really upset that he hasn't won that individual Oscar yet...

Other than the script and acting, Titanic has it beat in the categories of directing, music, editing, cinematography and production design.
It's a much better produced and executed film.
Exactly. People forget that Best Picture Oscar goes to the producers of the movie, so it's really about which movie had the best overall execution, in which not many movies in history would beat Titanic.
