when you click on the pencil, or draw command, there is a palette of brush strokes to choose from. dont use the fine tipped fade brush, use the broad tipped fade brush. it does a really good job of fading. i just laid down a color close, then went to custom color and lightened it a bit, add some more, and repeat. when i got as light as i needed, i just added some details and its done. i did the fingers about ten times until i gave up.

Hg, that made all of that worth it.

This thread is so full of awesome, I don't even know where to begin complimenting all the contributors. Too bad I have no MS Paint skills whatsoever. But
to all of you!

That's a great Jesus.
Thanks for the info. The last time I did this I just had the paint that came with MS Works. I went to the Fark Board & downloaded the better version that's linked there. Mine could be better but I didn't bother to download the tutorial so I I no idea what I'm doing. I know there are tons more functions but they are worthless without the kind of knowledge you just shared. I owe you a drink if we ever meet IRL.
iwyLSUiwy,
you need to give me a couple of days heads up before the next one of these. I'll go learn how to use it before joining in.
Now I'm just like Vincent Van Gogh (Kurt Douglas) in Lust for Life. I'm painting like crazy, bothering my family and waiting to meet Paul Gauguin (Anthony Quinn). Maybe Haplochrom is my Gauguin.

eta...how the frick did i draw it backwards,
BTW, open your pic back up in Paint and click "Rotate" and then "flip horizontal." Sometimes I find that I can draw better from one side to the other, so I'll flip my pic to draw the opposite side, then flip it back and it looks right again.

Yeah, I remember using Paint for pics on here years ago and not having much to work with. But the new version of Paint with the brush strokes and all that is pretty legit. At least for something like fricking around on this board with it. I first noticed the blending effect of the paint brushes when I did the Star Wars one earlier in the thread.
