Never been so scared in my life; easily the beat horror movie I have ever seen. What was your experience with this movie?

Friends saw it last night and said it was horrible. Said it was too predictable. I don't really trust their tastes in movies though

I'm going to see it this weekend. A friend of mine said it scared him so bad that he had trouble sleeping.

I thought it was a little predictable, but extremely scary. Worth a red box/pizza night.

How did you think it compared to Insidious? I only ask because I thought Sinister was really weak as a horror movie (not downing anyone, just my opinion), but Insidious was one of the scarier movies I have ever seen.

I liked both movies, but the $20 I spent to see each of them was excessive.

SPOILERS

In plot comparison, I thought Insidious was better. The dream world thing was cool, plus the dad's abilities were a nice turn I didn't see coming. And that old lady scared me every time she was on the screen.

Sinister was predictable, like I said. It's always the sweet kid that is the trouble.

I found Sinister to just be extremely creepy. It's a good movie, but like it was said above, you could see stuff coming.

But even then, the execution was still extremely creepy

i saw sinister twice over the weekend

both times, people were texting and talking during the movie

i thought it was a solid, above average movie.

I think Insidious is better and scarier.

Sinister was a bit predictable at times and didn't quite deliver the goods like the trailer would lead you to believe

Insidious was ridiculous and not in a good way. It was actually laughable. I love horror films, even bad ones, so I'd still give it a B/B- but it was far from good.

And sinister is supposed to be about some pedophile demon named after a a jewish breakfast bread. I'll catch it when it comes out on Netflix, but I'm not paying to see that shite.

I saw sinister on Sunday, not all that impressed. Granted, I went in with sky high expectations based on what I'd heard but it left a little to be desired IMO. For one, it's relatively slow moving. I know it's a scary movie so it's not gonna be as fast paced as an action flick, but it still kinda dragged. Also, and I know it's not the movie's "fault" because they all do this, but 90% of the scares in the movie were when it would be dark and/or silent and then a LOUD NOISE to make you jump. I get that that achieves it's purpose in "scaring" the audience..but it's not scary. It's just surprising. I won't ever see it again, but if you like scary movies then redbox it. It was definitely worth a buck.

I saw it tonight and I felt it was worth the money even if I did see the ending coming about 20-30 minutes into the movie.

-----SPOILERS------

It is one of those movies that is slow and basically is all in the same house throughout the movie until the end and mainly follows one character the entire movie, who never seems to change clothes. It did have a few good jump scenes. I'd give it 5 out of 10 stars.

I thought it was ok.

spoilers

Too much of the same thing. He just hears a noise, investigates, SCARE

I called the ending 5 mins into the movie. If you think about the poster (girl dragging blood on wall) + the kids missing, it's too predictable.

Yard Work was really awesome

I thought the music in it was very good. Creepy stuff

yea the music was great

the yardwork video got me too

also, yea I agree that the scares are pretty lazy. I HATE the random loud noise after silence type of scare. Like someone said earlier, it's not scary, it's just startling.

Insidious(mainly first half) had some pretty legit scary stuff happen that didn't depend on sudden loud noises

I plan on watching this one this weekend. Been looking forward to it.

Also, not sure if I'll be able to catch V/H/S in BR.

That's a shame. I had high hopes for Sinister and now it will be a Redbox at best.

Fwiiw-Insidious started off scary/freaky as hell and went into the shitter about halfway through.

That first half was freaking awesome though.
