Agree 100%. Can’t stand Monica. I like Kayce and almost everything wrong with Kayce’s life is attributable to Monica, albeit he did knock her up to start all these problems. That said, I admit my bias - I like Kayce and that makes me not like Monica even more in my view.

Really liked her for a while but last season or two has become insufferable. Her shtick got really old and overboard.

She hates her dad for turning Rip into a bully. She hates her dad for taking Kayce away from his family and turning him into a cutthroat. But she loves her dad and is doing what she can to protect him. She doesn't seem to care about the ranch, yet she is doing all she can to protect it. She did all she could to get Jamie out of the picture.

I don’t think it’s this. I think she hates her father for not letting Rip run the ranch over Kayce because she thinks he is more loyal, deserves it more, and loves the ranch more than anyone. She thinks he’s treated Rip as second class within the family. He’s not family, but kind of is. Of course John eventually does recognize Rip as a son, but 2 seconds later uses him to draw enemy fire at a white nationalist camp.

This is the biggest issue I take with John. He creates a lot of chaos within the Yellowstone because he waffles so much.

This is probably more correct than what I said. And I’m doing a series re-watch right now to remember where it left off last season. But did we ever figure out what Kayce’s role will be once John dies other than livestock commissioner by the end of last season? I can’t remember. It seems like from season 2-season 3 Kayce and John were at a really good spot in their relationship.

He is supposed to be this smart and methodical guy but is all over the place with treating some people like shite then being soft other times.
