I remember when this movie came out, and it was all anyone would talk about.

"Dude have you seen The Matrix? You've gotta go see it."

"What's it about?"

"I can't explain it, just go see it."

Funny thing was, I had a professor that semester who looked and talked just like Agent Smith. So before class one day, I said "Is it just me, or does the teacher look and talk just like that guy from the Matrix?" And everyone replied "Yes! I thought it was just me. But yes. Just like him."

I never saw it until like 10+ years after it came out and it held up well. 1999 might be the GOAT movie year. The sequels though...

1994 says calm down.

Yes, Larry did

Not sure about the downvotes but the Wachowski brothers had their brains cooked by that person

Perfect timing and the best “lackluster” marketing.

My parents took me to see it because it looked like a decent action movie for a Saturday night. We had no idea what we were getting into.

Absolutely mindfricked my 14 year old soul.

I actually really enjoy Reloaded. The Smiths fight, the mansion fight, and the highway chase are all exceptional action sequences. I really like the conversation with the Architect and the reveal of the previous Ones. Also, don’t forget the Animatrix.

Revolutions is arse though and WB should have never forced Resurrection.

No way. I love Matrix, but Dark City is an underrated masterpiece
