How would you rank The Shield, Sopranos and the Wire?

I'm curious how some would rank these three shows against one another?
For me personally I would go Wire, Sopranos then the Shield.
I think they are all great shows.

Funny you should mention this exact selection as these three (in some order) are the only TV dramas atop my personal Tier One of all-time TV.
My FAVORITE (if forced to choose) would probably be The Shield.
I have rewatched The Sopranos and The Shield over five times each, The Wire three.

It's no secret that I'm #TeamShield, but I rank those 3 plus Breaking Bad pretty close - too close to call, really.

Haven't seen enough of the Wire

Nothing touches season 5 of the Shield with Forrest Whitaker. I'll take the Shield's hard drama over Sopranos any day. The Sopranos wasnt exactly a comedy, but it tended to pivot away from storylines that had the most dramatic potential sometimes, like Bobbys murder or the last episode altogether. I'd put Breaking Bad over Sopranos too.

I need to watch all 3 shows in its entirety. I have seen all 3 shows, and of course all are awesome. Considered 3 of the best shows of all time. IMO, I would rank them like this...
1. The Sopranos
2. The Wire
3. The Shield

I did the DVd rental of the shield from Netflix and just pushed through them to try to finish the series a couple summers ago and absolutely did myself a disservice to the show. Never have watched sopranos though but the wire is so damn good.

All 3 debuted & originally aired around the same time. I watched all 3 live, so my viewpoint isn't from binge watching.
I looked the most forward to The Shield. It was a great combination of writing, acting & action that was groundbreaking at the time.
I thought the Sopranos was the best of the three. Sometimes it was a slow burn or seemed to waste most of an episode for character development, but usually paid off.
The Wire required a commitment. Very few people I knew at the time were watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was appointment TV, but wonder if it was meant to be binged. I am glad so many people have discovered it over the years, but I wish The Shield would also receive similar praise.

The wire is my favorite but The Shield is a better rewatch.
