I remember watching this as a kid and loved it but over the years have heard horrible things. I watched it for the first time in 20 years and wtf. I thought this was a kids movie. Topless duck women complete with nipples, condoms, sex with animals. That George Lucas is one weirdo. I would post the topless duck pic but I don't know if that would bring the ban hammer. This will have to do.

Why wouldn't it be PG?

When's the last time you watched the Goonies? Or Monster Squad? Or Rad? Or any kids' movie from the 80s.

frick, the last Unicorn is G I think and they cuss straight through that movie, and there is an implied rape scene.

Google Howard the Duck topless and ask me again. Only movie above that I have seen was The Goonies. That would probably be PG-13 today (18 year old tonguing a 13 year old, dead body, penis statue (mom's favorite part),etc. ET too (shut up, penis breath )

80s movies kind of showed kids how they really are.

Boys were all about seeing girls naked. If someone had an older sister, they were going to try and see her naked. They were constantly trying to cop cigarettes and steal beer. There was a guaranteed scene involving Dad's Playboy collections.

Halcyon days.

I was all about seeing my friend's sister naked and checking out his dad's Playboy's but we never had the urge to smoke and drink beer during our pre-teen years. I do remember my friend obtaining pictures of naked ladies and I traded expensive basketball cards for them.

PG-13 wasn't an official rating until 1984, so I guess the MPAA was still trying to figure out what should be classified as that.

Yep. And I don't think it hurt anyone. I plan on showing my kids older kid movies.

Or Monster Squad?

I saw this again a few years ago, and early in the movie, they use a derogatory term for a homosexer and some swear words. I can't remember what the word was, but I started laughing, thinking that, no way this would be PG today.
