Al Pacino winning for Scent of a Woman was a lifetime achievement award.
The fact that he didn't win for The Godfather Part II is still mind blowing to me.
If you watch these back to back, you would swear one actor is a distant cousin doppelganger... Or an Alien look-alike. The man had two very estranged movie careers.

I think he was superior to Del Toro's performance.
He was superior to Crowe, also.

Meh. You’re a mizzou fan. You’re probably a soft liberal bitch.

Meh, it was still a pretty contrarian drive-by. Some of us just happened to actually have seen that movie.

That reminds me—I watched Shadow of a Vampire and Nosferatu for the 1st time back-to-back. Made Dafoe’s performance even better. I was a bit of a film nerd back then, devouring every Entertainment Weekly trying to find the cool new indie I could go try to find at Blockbuster to be the 1st one to show all my friends. So no surprise I grabbed Shadow as soon as it came out. But I’m not sure why I hadn’t seen Nosferatu. I love vampire mythology, and I certainly knew it existed and the story behind why they couldn’t use “Dracula” and all that. Maybe it was hard to find. Do any of y’all remember if they did a re-release or 1st-time DVD release or something to go along with the marketing of Shadow? I’m old and have no idea.

Yes. It is usually considered contrarian to have seen and enjoyed a movie on this board.

Some of you people need to admit it’s a religion at this point

Y’all took that comment waaaaaay too serious. The fact of the matter is I probably won’t even vote in this election.
But Commodus wanted to take the power of Rome completely away from the people and absolve power into the hands of himself alone (deep state).
Maximus had his life destroyed and his family killed and regained his footing in life to battle Commodus, despite the fact they killed his family, everyone in Rome associated with him and, as they thought, him. However he dedicated his life to battling Commodus and restoring the power of Rome to the people.
It’s no religion for me. But, I also have a grand ability to see life through multiple points of views.
Perhaps, no offense, **checks notes** Vermillion Tiger, you’re a frickin dumbass that can’t see past your own nose?? Read a history book before you reply to me again. I don’t suffer fools gladly.

Let us know if you find it somewhere. Shadow of the Vampire is not available for streaming according to JustWatch

Can you use this grand ability to explain to us simpletons how some one arguing the President should have complete immunity is not in fact Commodus?

My big Oscar question mark was how did Al Pacino not get one for his role in "Donnie Brasco".
Dep was the star and Pacino took over the screen when he was on it.
