This battle was a complete route and could be skipped if they wanted to. The only thing it shows is that the Dragon Seeds are able to ride their dragons into battle.
I hope they don't skip it because it will look awesome but they may need to cut it in order to meet their quota of scenes where Daemon wanders and dreams...

I was going to say, I'm pretty sure something important happens there
I would've guessed that next episode would be focused on the Dragonseeds, the following episode on the Battle of the Gullet, and then the last episode being the Fall of King's Landing.
