Not just action. As stated above there were just infinitely more interesting and likable characters in GOT. Well placed humour. Objectively, it was just a significantly better show (so far) even taking into account the disastrous ending.
I do agree that HOTD is well done though. The acting and production are top notch. It’s suffering from inferior source material.

Yeah to me Rhaenyra is just as much of not more morally bankrupt than Alicent. Of course since Rhaenyra is presented as the main character everyone hates Alicent more.

I’m Team Viserys at this point. He just wants to die a peaceful death without worrying about his entire family killing each other.
If I were him i’d murder all those frickers and start a new line

I think Viserys really is a good man. He’s got redeeming qualities but he’s just too weak for his position. He’s not beloved, he’s not respected, he’s not feared.
The rest of the people around him are just legitimate count.
Can someone tell me why Otto is Hand again? They devoted no time to explaining this or showing how a guy the King said he couldn’t trust anymore just seemingly assumed the mantle again. It’s left for the viewer to hash out but no logical conclusion to be drawn.

Idk i bet he can still wank one. I wanna see him go postal on these people
I know how he’d do it too.
Tell Daemon to kill Corlys because he’s challenging the marriage or something. Boom. Done. Easy.
Get Cole to surprise kill Daemon. Boom. Done. Easy
Get Cole to kill Rhaenyra with Alicent in on it. Boom. Done. Easy
Laenor is in Essos and presumed dead. Boom. Done. Easy
Kill Alicent in bed after she thinks she’s won. Boom. Done. Easy
Kill Cole for treason after killing Rhaenyra. Boom. Done. Easy
Murder all the children with a dragon or something. Boom. Done. Easy

i agree that the show is missing humour. a character like Tyrion, Bronn, or even Jamie with his black humour.
other than that, we are just halfway through season 1, so i'm not ready to compare it to GoT at this point. we can compare season 1 of both after the season finale.

Yeah so that happened, wonder if the producer that made kids of House Velaryon black knew they’d be getting killed off by the white people.
But yeah that bloodline is now gone guess this is where we get Dany’s ancestors from. Also I’ve been saying this for a while but once Viserys kicks the bucket all hell is going to break lose.
Also was loving how when everyone was arguing about Ameond’s eye and Rhaenyra’s bastards, Dameon was just straight chilling in the back

I legit feel bad for Viserys, he’s a good dude that just wants his family to be peaceful but he’s surrounded by assholes

know the show is definitely trying to paint the blacks as the good side, but what redeeming qualities do any of them have?
quote:His claim isn’t legitimate as long as Rhaenyra is alive because the King hand picked her and announced to the realm that she is his heir regardless of sons that may be born. He would be nothing more than a usurper
Although I do think that Aegon has the most legitimate claim to the throne being of age and the King’s eldest son.

continue to diverge from the books with the fates of the other main characters.
I think they will for sure with some, Alicent being one. Possibly Daemon as well

At the rate of how fast this season is moving it feels like there will only be one season

Also looks like Viserys is on his death bed next episode.
Frickin' finally. I've been waiting for ole Rotten Arm to kick it for at least three episodes now. Once he's gone, shite can really hit the fan.

i don't get the hate for alicent. Rhaenyra is clearly just a whore who is power hungry and selfish. Alicent actually has class and a sense of responsibility.
i'm definitely team green from now on.

Rhaenyra would have abdicted her position and fled to the free cities with Criston Cole if it was not for her belief in the duty she had to produce the prophecied Prince that was Promised.
Alicent is self-righteous, manipulative, and judgemental over Rhaenarya ousting her father as hand. Rhaenarya was justified in this as she knew Otto Hightower was manipulating his way to the throne through Alicent.
Rhaenarya couldn't have children via Laenor anyways. What was she supposed to do? Act like she was unable to bear children?

I do feel like she and Laenor could have tried harder. By the sound of it they gave it a go a few times then said frick it lol

He is a good dude but he is so weak that his family feels that they can get away with anything, resulting in all the issues that are coming to a head now.
If Tywin was in this exact situation there is no war at all because he was a strong and respected ruler, and probably more importantly he would have chosen what made his house stronger when it came to the marriage decision that Viserys bungled.
