I'm not hoping its a flop, just saying shouldn't have been made to begin with and that i have no faith in HBO..especially if it is successful then its completely doomed.
It just all leads to nowhere, unless they are going to do a do-over of the last 2 GOT seasons, it all seems like some waste of time shite.

If you want to learn about Easter Eggs in the show, after each episode, watch ScreenCrush on YouTube. He does a great job explaining what you just watched and connects the dots of the story/history. Plus he's pretty funny. He's done this on other series as well like the original GOT, The Mandolorian, Boba Fett etc.

Okay. The pace of the episode was fine. I agree there wasn’t much going on action wise, but it paved the way for fraction amongst the council
Agree, that first episode was great so it’s hard to keep that same pace in every episode. Just saying I found myself bored several time during the episode.

Do you have a job? Or do you sit around all day at your computer shitting on people who like a TV show that you don’t?

Sounds like you’re one of them lol

No you see they make these smart phones nowadays that are capable of all those things, so if you don't care for a series and express it..you can have all the shitheads you want try and convince you differently in real time if you don't agree with what they like.
Its truly amazing times we live in.

Would be valid...if you actually watched the show, but you didnt.
Instead you just chose to be the a-hole throwing a bunch of negativity into a thread, with a pretty good discussion going, about something you havent seen.
You dont want to watch it, we get it, you can go away now and let those of us who do watch it talk about it.

Why watch it when you know how it ends, had GOT been taken care of properly..id be watching as well. With positivity and anticipation

Just wanted to give a shout out to the people in this thread posting snippets from wiki on the history without giving away spoilers. I've been trying to avoid googling because there's spoilers everywhere

If there’s anything you all have questions about that we can find in the wiki (to post without spoilers) just ask.
I know enough about what happens that I’m ok to go in and look for it.

Because this is 200 years before, not 20
Im also not going to stop watching LOTR if this new series sucks
Im also not going to stop watching Star Wars OT because the new trilogy sucked.

The actresses that play Rhaenyra and Alicent are 22 and 25 respectively in real life and have both been great. I have a feeling we're all gonna look back and wish they didn't replace the actresses mid show.
This is my concern.
Olivia Cooke who is going to be the older Alicent looks so close to the one playing her now I actually thought that was her in the first episode until I looked it up. I just thought they were making her look a little younger. They should transition just fine.
I know in the book Alicent is referred to as the most comely girl at court. I was surprised when Otto told her that in the show because she's actually very pretty. It's like big deal, she picks at her fingers, but so far she's the prettiest girl I've seen. She definitely isn't comely.

comely
pleasant to look at; attractive (typically used of a woman).
Maybe you're thinking of homely.

Its supporting a series that doesn't deserve it.
I get that and would have been fine with no more Game of Thrones related shows, but it's a different book, with different show runners. They probably learned from the mistakes of dumb and dumber.

HBO should be putting resources into better content rather than beating a dead horse and hoping people forgot that there is no point in anymore of this story.
They are still putting out good content. If anything, the money this is raking in is just going to allow them to make more content. HBO Max imo, is the best streaming service out there. Not the largest catalog, but overall the best quality.
Also, and this is just playing devils advocate because like I say I was fine without this being made and I absolutely despised the ending of GoT, but just because the conclusion of something sucks doesn't mean the history isn't worth telling. I don't watch Yellowstone or 1883 but just for example, both seemed to be well liked. But if Yellowstones ending blows, does that mean 1883 wasn't worth making even though it's a good show on its own right?
quote:
Hell..If its any good, just from a show standpoint, I'm sure they'll drop the ball with it too, HBO can't stick a landing for shite.
I'd have to disagree with this. Outside of Game of Thrones and The Sopranos, there isn't really an ending to any of my favorite shows that I wasnt fine with. I guess Deadwood too. The Leftovers, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Newsroom, Six Feet Under, Vice Principles, Eastbound and Down, Veep, Hacks (if it's done), and that's not even counting some of the GOAT mini series.
