I liked it from the beginning, but it has been getting more and more interesting since the time jump. So happy there is a GoT series that is about good story-telling and not how many big-budget action scenes they can crm into 45 minutes.

Yeah, they really leaned into the bloody birthing scenes in this show.

I was just kind of meh on it through the first 2 episodes, but episode 3 had me hooked. I've really been enjoying it so far. I was one of those folks with almost zero expectations for it, half-expecting to hate watch it.

The one thing I think the show is seriously lacking is a little comic relief. This show would be massively improved if there was someone like Bronn or The Hound to occasionally deliver a sarcastic line with the slightest bit of levity attached.

Daemon always sitting in the back with a smirk on his face that says “at least I know I’m crazy” may be as close as we get.

Now that he and Rhenyria are together, hopefully we get more of that. He's easily the best character in the show so far.

In my opinion, it's actually kinda remarkable how enjoyable this series has been despite there not being a lot of really excellent characters. Compared to Season One of "Game of Thrones", "House of the Dragon" resembles a CW series, at least when it comes to the strength and charisma of its cast and main characters.

I think part of it is that we don’t see much of this any more. Actual story telling. Scenes with 6 to 12 people actually acting. With the occasional dragon.

Yep. Much better than the previous one which honestly feels even more like filler.

That's the only disappointment for me, not enough characters. Feels like we are following the same 5 and now their children. I understand the show is about going deep (following the hereditary royal line) instead of wide, but I'd like some side characters to root for or against, like GoT had in spades.

They had a tough job out of the gate. Unlike GOT, the story here unfolds over 25-30 years and involves a bunch of children. It's kind of hard to squeeze that into 8 hours of programming with different actors moving in and out of the narrative. And part of the backdrop is that none of the characters are particularly likeable or competent, which helps set the stage for the events to come but also detracts from the enjoyment of the journey.

Ultimately the show will be judged by how they portray the "dance of dragons". The appetizer is fine, but people come to the restaurant for the main course.

The problem with this show is it has Game of Thrones name attached to it

If people can separate the two and just judge it as a standalone show, it’s really good and well done
