He mad! Seems like a lot for one episode.

Some replies are saying it’s for the rest of the season, not just the next episode. So we shall see.

I think it’s the rest of the season, I can’t see that all crammed into one.

Total number of seasons
It’s been confirmed there’s 4. That’s why there’s no way it’s possible rooks rest is the last episode and more likely the mid season big episode. For one they’ve shown a ton of that battle in the various trailers. Second, If they end the season with rooks rest they only have two more to cover all other stuff + material added for the show approved by George
They are in current filming of the first dunk and egg season for next year release so it’s not two years between shows in that universe. Which is nice I guess.

What’s everyone’s most anticipated scenes? A few for me
Daemon vs Aemon over the gods eye obviously
Baela confronting Aegon
Rhaenyras death
And just in general how they are going to make it work incorporating Cregan more into the actual events of the war instead of mostly only the aftermath.

What gave it away? The part 15 seconds in that says “this season on HotD”?

So we know Baela will be at rooks rest from all the trailers where she wasn’t in the OG story. That means she will see her grandma die. I imagine that’s what happens prior to the shots of her chasing Cole into the woods, wonder what other characters they’ll put into it or remove from situations they should or shouldn’t be in. I like the addition of Baela in this instance.

Was that Alyn hugging Addam before getting on the ship? If so, shouldn't Adam have white hair?

Were they trying to show that Cheese was good at reading people by being able to tell that she was telling the truth?
Seems like this was the case

They shouldn't have changed the Blood and Cheese scene.

I’ll echo the sentiment of others, the Blood & Cheese scene was kind of a letdown.
As much as I hate them, I think early season GOT D&D would’ve done it properly

Season 1 and 2 D&D would have left it alone and did it justice
Ahh, the good old days

I’ve seen a bunch of people saying the blood and cheese scenes was done the way it was because Condole didn’t want to include Aegons other son that isn’t killed for multiple reasons. One another child actor on set who would have to remain around in an already incredibly large cast of characters with phenomenal acting across the board an actor that younge performance would stand out, another was because HBO wouldn’t allow an exact 100% recreation because of truly despicable it is. Idk if they get got this from some interview Condole did somewhere or what but the first reason definitely makes sense. I’m more dubious about HBO shutting it down.

Finally got around to watching episode 1 last night, a few takeaways.
1. I should have done a rewatch of season 1 because I had no clue what was going on and who was allied with Black or Green. In fact, I had completely forgotten about Team Black and Team Green, lol. My memory was so bad of season 1, which I loved and followed completely, that it was like the first time watching this series. Total Hodor. Maybe HBO shouldn't take YEARS between seasons.
2. After reading and refreshing my memory today of the events of season 1 a lot of my memory has flooded back and in retrospect episode 1 made sense. I will need to watch again though.
3. I have not read the books but from the way the final scene has been described here, they should have stuck to the book version. Have these show runners not learned there is no reason to adapt or change what GRRM has put on paper, it's perfect the way he has it written, don't change anything. It would have been much better done the way it was written.
4. As for the written way being too gory, or the end scene of the hacking and sawing being gory enough, I disagree. Maybe I have become desensitized to violence after having just finished The Last Kingdom. I was like, meh, they're just chopping the kid's head off, no biggie, Destiny is All!
5. I am thinking of doing a rewatch of season 1 before progressing any further but I don't have that kind of time to invest if I want to keep up in real time. Thinking I need to watch some in depth recaps on YouTube and that should be enough. I really should have done a Season 1 rewatch in May in prep for this. Lesson learned.
