Hope (2026) - what an insane ride

I’ll start this by saying I’m not a monster movie guy. Never cared for Godzilla and all that monster-verse stuff and recently watched The Host and thought it was overrated.
With that being said. This movie is fricking awesome. Best time I’ve had in a theatre since F1. Only complaints is it’s pretty damn long and its leaves a lot unanswered at the end, but it’s obvious there’s going to be a sequel with how it ends. It’s also got some really funny parts.
Go see this. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I’m planning to see it this weekend. Tried to go yesterday but the runtime was too long so I watched ‘Tony’ instead.

Also, it’s from the same director that did The Wailing which I haven’t seen but it’s been on the list for awhile. Heard nothing but great things

Looking forward to Hope very soon, but definitely move The Wailing up to sooner than later on your list, it's the film that started by dive into Korean films

The Wailing is fricking incredible. Watch it immediately. Seriously.

Watched The Wailing this morning. Very slow burn that you have to stick with due to the length but man that ending. Korean cinema always nails endings. Memories of Murder being another example which I also watched earlier this year.

Yup. I was pretty blown away by it.
It is a VERY slow burn. But the payoff is incredible.

the best part of korean movies is that there is none of that DEI shite and race swapping. that's only for us suckers out here in the west.

Has anybody seen his other 2 movies which also have rave reviews? The Chaser and The Yellow Sea? Looks like you can get The Chaser on prime but Yellow Sea is harder to find

I’m glad I caught this is theaters. It was long but the near non-stop action made the runtime fly by. My only minor complaint was the CGI was a little sketchy at times. They made up for it with the stunt work and sound design. Would love to see it get some recognition from the Oscars for the sound during the gunfights.
We better get a sequel because I need to know what happens next. I have no idea what they are setting up with the ending and I heard several echoes of my WTF when the credits rolled
I knew Fassbender was in it and I was waiting the whole movie for him to appear until I realized he was voicing the male creature.
Also, did you catch the mid-credits scene? Pretty substantial reveal.

I was pissed the chief didn’t shoot the loser that was driving until I saw the scene. That dude is going to be sore in the morning after the multiple shots he took that sent him flying into trees and getting knocked out of the car.
Also, lesson learned not to eat spicy pork the night before you go hunting in the forest. What an elaborately detailed story from that guy.
