They go so far into politics and hardly no jokes. I don’t think you can even classify the last season as comedy.

I skipped episode 1 of the last season and thought the rest of it was fine.

B99 is one of the best comedies in recent network TV.

I can't believe you got through a gay police captain in S1.

same

Not good, at all, but fine.

It was a poor decision to let Peralta get the girl so early. As it nearly always does, it fouled up the chemistry.

It was a good show, but never became as good as it should have been.

How may alters do you poli morons have?

Define "woke" --- it was "woke" from the beginning.

B99 started off with Black, Gay, Captain, that was one of the best characters in TV history. (RIP Cap'n).

quit acting like no one watched the fricking show. We all know what captain Holt is.

Modern family had 2 queers on the show but no one said it was woke and we all loved that show. Quit making excuses. Go look at the ratings for the last season outside of the finale. Everyone said the same thing.

You're correct. They completely bombed the last season due to wokeness. They were embarrassed to be in a cop show after George Floyd so they scrapped 4 episodes they had planned and instead focused on social justice garbage. LINK

Season 8 had good spots, but half the season could be completely discarded.

A well thought out character that added a lot to the show, versus a rushed set of season stories that didn't add to the show. Hm, I wonder what was different.

I feel like Michael Schur did so well of having diverse likeable casts for the Office and Parks and Rec and the beginning of B99.

He made Girl Bosses we liked (Leslie and Santiago.) He made PoC gay dudes we loved (Oscar and Captain Holt,) he made direct fun of clueless white dudes (Michael, Boyle, Andy Dwyer, and Jake Piralta.) He put black people in prominent roles and let them shine (Donna, Darrl, Holt, and Terry)

Nobody took any offense to it at all and it was entirely enjoyable for the masses.

2020 broke them. they knew if they tried to be a police comedy in a post BLM world they'd be called tone deaf. and then they ruined it.

i actually disagree. Santiago and Peralta getting together as early as they did made the series better. It's rare that i'd feel that way, but i do on this one.

That the last season right?

If so, I stopped watching due to that nonsense - after the first few minutes of the 1st episode and first few of the 2nd episode when I realized it hadnt been a one-off thing.

It was both completely disconnected from their previous humor and style while also being shoved in your face Immediately.

I disagree, it made Peralta a 1-note character in my mind.

The casual pursuit for a couple more seasons would have been more entertaining, with both having other love interests interspersed.
