Watched Rear Window last night with the kids (14/10) and they were on the edge of their seats. I was worried it wouldn’t hold up or they might think it was boring but the master of suspense came through.

Most accessible Hitch film. We loved it as kids more so than Psycho.

Now Vertigo might bore them to tears as great as it is. Its purely an adult, you need experience film.

Rear Window is just pure Clue.

Every kid loves Clue.

First movie I remember seeing. I was 5 or 6. Scared the crap out of me ~ the dog in the basket as well as several other scenes. Our spinster sister landlords took me while my parents were at a girl scout event with my older sister. They had no clue what I was watching!

I remember that movie so vividly 67 years later!

Rear Window

Caught it in a theater as part of flashback cinema a few years ago and it looks so damn good on a big screen.

Notorious is the best. I always get pissed when i see that on t.v. only to find out its the Notorious BIG biopic. Spellbound w/ the Dali imagery is a under the radar gem.

Hitchcock is probably rivaled only by Welles and Kubrick for director that other Tier 1 directors say is the GOAT.

That is awfully select company (with all due respect to John Ford, John Huston, Howard Hawks, William Wyler and Billy Wilder who were all great, but largely conventional directors.)

Let them watch The Birds and see how they react.

But yeah, Rear Window is an awesome movie. And I love Vertigo too. North by Northwest is probably my favorite.

If you watch the movie that came out several years ago "Hitchcock" its about what Hitchcock went through to get Psycho made. I thought it was excellent.

When she goes over and breaks into the guy's house I thought my kids would crawl up the wall.

Great movie.

ETA: Grace Kelly is a stone cold dime. GOAT beauty.

LONG ago my aunt was visiting and she and my mom were watching the Birds. During the scene when the birds were attacking the school kids I sneaked up behind her a blew a Crow call.

She was NOT happy. I was on the floor.

It's like many don't realize that the 'classics' were admired for a reason.

I had the same reaction, discovering Rear Window , specifically, and being blown away.
