Modern gritty western. Jeff Bridges + Chris Pine, I had never heard of it.

Pretty damn good. Would recommend.

Great movie and you must not be on here much.

If you’re not in here much check out Barry on HBO max because it’s awesome.

Fantastic movie. Often discussed here and all agree for the most part.

Yes great movie. I hated Jeff Bridges because of True Grit but liked him again after this movie.

I think Waylon would have approved of his song in the montage, FWIW. Excellent movie.

Taylor Sheridan had such promise in 2015-16 with Sicario and Hell or High Water.

He could have been a really great filmmaker/writer if he was just able to make feature films every few yrs with great directors.

Now, he's creatively bankrupt.

This is still probably the best scene of his career. LINK

I thought Wind River was very good, and better than Hell or High Water. Largely because of a couple of plot holes in Hell or High Water that I just found to be impossible to overlook.

Thought it was pretty good. They didn’t overdo the annoying redneck cliches which I appreciated

Did he not do the second Sicario? The 2nd was great and supposedly there is a third in the works. I didn't realize that he only did the first one, the cinematography and score was very similar to the first with Soldado.

He wrote the first

Wrote and directed the second

There was a noticeable drop off, wouldn’t call the second one “great” by any means, but it’s a fun action thriller. A drop off was bound to happen going from one of the best working directors in the first one, to Sheridans 1st or 2nd attempt at directing

Not sure if the 3rd one will ever get made now that he’s knee deep in making 80 Yellowstone spin offs

ETA apparently he didn’t direct the second one either. Still was a new director not named Denis so hard to expect it to match the original

I feel like he likes doing genre films and cable TV stuff as sort of a nod to his own career as a character/TV actor

Sicario
Hell or High Water
Wind River

Sicario: Day of the Soldado

*Haven't seen Those Who Wish Me Dead or Yellowstone (but I'm getting tired of hearing about the show from the fanatics).
